What did you do in the garden today?

So hot and humid today that I gave the chicken kids frozen mango and ran the hose in the palms and then the orange tree for their feet to cool. I felt sorry but much more prepared than I have been in in years past.
Got my ride in, bananas planted, a few things organized, obsessed over the R-com a bit more... took a nap.

Night all. Talk to ya tomorrow.
Hey @BReeder! where have you disappeared to? You go build an awesome garden empire and quit sharing with us???!!! Man!!!

Morning everyone. Back to work! Spotted a rabbit in the garden as we pulled down the back drive last nigh. I tried to get DH to shoot it, but he's such a softie he said the pistol on his hip was too loud. (I knew he wouldn't do it, that's why I asked, lol) I was surprised a rabbit would chew holes through the fence when he had a yard full of grass & clover. Well now I know how to bait the trap...

Off to make a post about my pullet that seems to have an issue laying, not sure if I need to put her out of her misery or if she will get it straightened out. Hope everyone has a great day!

& I didn't realize we have a couple veterans here! Thank you all for your service, I have mad respect for you.

Bait the traps with any plant you care about?

Exactly! That little &^%$#@!. I haven't been in the garden yet to see what he's eaten this time, but he seems to like the cucumber sprouts. I can't seem to keep any, gonna be pickle-less year if I can't keep him out!
It has been like that for me and my pineapples. I'm willing to wait for the fruit to fully ripen but our bunnys don't roll like that. They are happy with green pineapples. I'd understand it better if I were late to harvest. Oh well my gloves should ship out today and I can offer nature a better alternative I hope twoards eating my things with the Prickly Pear Cactus project.

That or like any human endeavor it will backfire on me and I'll have to resort to physical means of corrective behavior.

How funny is that that you're going though all this to offer them an alternative & I just want DH to shoot my bunny. :gig (not really, I'm just joking about that, sort of)

I had no idea bunnies like green pineapple! Sounds bitter to me & hopefully they like the cactus better.
I just don't think I have the energy to beat the reproductive capacity of a bunny.
