What did you do in the garden today?

Well it’s been a year since I’ve made zucchini bread so I shredded the squash then squeezed them dry. Oops! The recipe I was using didn’t call for that so I used a quarter cup of orange juice to replace the liquid. I made 4 mini loaves. I sampled a piece after it cooled. It was tasty. The other 3 loaves are basking in the freezer now along with the butter I just made. I bought a small air fryer @Acre4Me. I love it. Frozen French fries are awesome and I can have fried chicken more frequently now. What’s really nice is that it cooks nicely and doesn’t heat up the whole kitchen. Of course, there’s the healthier fried thing also.

Tied up and sprayed. Phew. The bench is finished as well. $20 for the headboard/footboard and wood rail set. I had to disassemble it and chop it up, and put it all together. The wet head stain from the old lady that owned it will not sand out, but will also not match stains, but I did conceal it some. It adds to the story.
I top stained the whole thing in walnut and sealed it.
25$ for lumber and stain so $45 total. Swearing was free. It is SOLID. LOL

I am trying to freeze squash shredded, squeezed & laid out on a baking sheet. Last time I froze them in 1 cup batches, this time I'm trying for loose. Not sure if it will work. :idunnoNot even sure if frozen squash will even be good in bread later on or if it'll be too mushy! But I gotta try something, I have so dang much of it.

I just tried one of the loaves of squash bread, I added strawberries & lemon, loving the strawberries! It's like it has its own built in jam, lol.

I tied up the tomato plants, as Sarah said we're expecting that hurricane on Tues/Wed.
It's good in bread. If you freeze on the cookie sheet use a piece of parchment, makes it easy to put into bags or containers quickly. The shredded stuff thaws quick.

I LOVE my air fryer! If I make onion rings I do a huge batch and freeze, then they take just a few minutes in the air fryer.

I apologize if my comment came out as more insult than friendly joke. I was thinking more of the things I use stock for (gravies and such). A bean soup with a kick to it sounds wonderful.
Didn't even dawn on me that it could be taken as an insult. It won't be a soup, the beans will absorb all of it. The beans will be hot. After sampling the broth I figure they will be just about the right amount of heat. 1 pepper going into a 7.5 Quart crock pot, Usually have about 20 Cayenne peppers and its not even hot. This is the first time I did it straight in the broth I use to cook the beans because previously I used store broth. This is my first time making broth so I figured maybe putting the heat in the broth will work. I haven't tried the beans yet, I should be sampling them soon but I have chicken meat I am cooking before I start eating beans. The beans are my staple meal where I make a large batch and microwave some once a day.

Carolina Reapers have 2.2 Million Scovilles, Cayenne Peppers have 0.1 Million Scovilles, should be close to the same amount of heat.

Today in the Garden... Picked 1 good Cucumber and 1 Cucumber with pickle worms. Chickens ate one and I ate the other. I love Cucumbers. I saw a Carolina Reaper turn orange and should be red in 2 or 3 days. I refrained from picking red Cayenne Peppers because I want to extract seeds so they are staying the vine until they are leathery, I picked 5 Tomatoes to finish ripening inside so the damn squirrels do not get to them first. I weeded my last tiny raised bed and figuring out what I can grow in it for the fall garden.

I moved a rabbit and had access under her cage so I dumped Manure in one of the raised beds. .... oh I forgot, I picked 2 okras and ate them while in the garden, I like it raw.
