What did you do in the garden today?

In the middle of squeezing the grapes I got a call from the pharmacy to let me know I could get my flu shot. I covered everything up and ran off to get my flu shot. Purple fingers and all. The senior high dose shot is usually scarce in October so I didn't want to miss out. Have a great day everyone and happy canning.
For the first time ever, I'm getting a flu shot this year. I still feel young but the numbers say I'm turning 60 soon - want to make sure that any flu-ish symptoms that might occur are either a normal cold or something to be more concerned about.

I'm neglecting my cabbages, but since they're hidden under row covers, it makes it easier to ignore them. Terrible, I know...My luffah plants are growing up their trellis and looking very pretty, but the actual squashes are remaining tiny. Haven't had a frost yet so far, but I need to face reality and treat this first-time luffah-growing as a learning experience.
At least I harvested my basil at the right time and got 8 quarts of pesto, yum!
One thing I did achieve this weekend, was collecting logs, branches and stumps to build around the inside of the new chicken yard so they can't dig down and destroy the aluminum+wire panels. All that's left is building the door from the old run to the new run, and the chickens will really enjoy their freedom in their new yard.

I hope you all the best! Every time I get the flu shot, I end up getting the flu so I have refused to get the flu shot for the last 10 years and have never gotten the flu during those 10 years. This year is tough, I'm in the profession that a single sneeze they will send you home and then you have to get tested. Allergies are horrible this year, I'm taking double the allergy meds and I am not looking forward to when the corn is cut down, I may have to up the allergy meds so that I am not sent home from work. I am leaning toward not getting the flu shot this year because with my history, I will end up getting the flu.

Sorry to burst your bubble @CluckerFamily , but you cannot catch the flu from the flu shot. Google it if you don’t believe me. Whatever you are coming down with is either purely coincidental or a reaction to something in the shot. You may have allergies that you are not aware of. But it is not the flu. You should speak with your doctor about your concerns. But this year with the coronavirus floating around in the air it seems like the smart thing to do whatever you can to not get sick from anything. Just saying!

Not from Google but from a Doctor: There are 4 types of flu viruses: A, B, C, and D. The flu shots prevent 1 type of flu that the CDC informs the WHO the year before as to which flu virus will be affecting people so that they can make the flu vaccine. I know you can't catch the flu from the flu shot because the vaccine contains very small amounts of deactivated flu virus that is not harmful to us. I am just stating that I know my body and that every time I get the flu shot, I get the flu (and it is the flu: doctor determined).
We are also in a state in which everyone has to wear a mask, whether they do or don't is their own choice, this should help the spread of the flu.
