What did you do in the garden today?

So I have been unsupervised 2 days . So I am a fairly good cook . Had 3 bell peppers that I needed used up . Thought hey stuffed peppers . So not wanting to go the real way . Yeah lazy . Sliced and cubed the peppers , boiled in a saucepan till done . 1 1/2 # burger , onion and some hen of the woods mushroom added the peppers and a quart of home canned pasta sauce . A packet of Uncle Ben's rice . Simmered awhile . Oh so good . Had 2 bowls while still a little runny . Thickened up after it sat and cooled some . Love the taste of home canned tomato products .

@jerryse That sounds so good! But, bell peppers and my stomach do not get along.

I always hated green peppers growing up. Then I started liking them, and then wanting them on my pizza. Suddenly, I started burping that bell pepper taste for the next 3 days after eating them ... so as to not develop a real allergy to them, I very sparingly eat bell peppers. For some reason, I tolerate chili peppers better.

I like ripe bell peppers more than green .

Pulled out some of the dead stuff in my garden. My husband did get the 2nd mini green house made and we put it over the habanero and a cherry tomato plant ( that I cut way back so it would fit inside). Tonight the low is 55 but tomorrow it is supposed to have a low of 33.
My friend decided that she does want the bed but doesn't have a way to get it to her house so we will deliver it for her tomorrow. She almost didn't get to come and even look at it. Apparently she and her husband had been at a wedding last weekend ( they were the only ones wearing masks) and, yep, you guessed it, someone turned up positive for
covid and so she had to go get a rapid test. She is a teacher but today was a virtual day. She was at the testing center when I messaged her to ask her to let me know when she was on her way. Any way, she waited until she got the results (she was negative) and then came by the storage unit. We both wore masks anyway.
My puppies are supposed to go get spayed on Monday but now I think one of them is going into heat. They will be 7 months old on Sunday. I'm not positive though ( about her going into heat) because I've always had my dogs spayed before that occurred.

very messy for the vet lock her up a month then take her

The flavor was really good. Balsamic goes well with onion and garlic, and the eggs had a nice blend of all three flavors, but they were not overwhelmed by any flavor.
Definitely going to try that, it sounds delicious.
Well, I'm headed to bed. Good night!
Wow, you have been so busy. I hope you slept well.
@WthrLady, that sounds nightmarish. Poor dog, and stupid people.

I've got 2 quarts, and 4 pints of tomato sauce processing on the stove. We've gotten plenty of rain lately so that's awesome. Tomorrow the plan is to pull the last of the raised bed tomatoes and pick the last of the cherry tomatoes, I'd like to make some pasta salad with some of them.

I tilled a bit more today. I also checked on the compost piles. One pile was finished and I have used much of it over the season. The remainder of it is nicely finished of though. It's loose, crumbly black soil. It's a bit gray looking in this pic because it is rather dry at the moment. You can see where I dug in with my hand though and how nicely colored and texture it is.

The larger pile that will feed the garden in the Spring is not nearly as finished. In fact, we have been feeding it regularly still. The pile is a good 3ft tall, 4ft wide and spilling out the front of the open bin.
