That sounds delicious, and like something I would do as well.So I have been unsupervised 2 days . So I am a fairly good cook . Had 3 bell peppers that I needed used up . Thought hey stuffed peppers . So not wanting to go the real way . Yeah lazy . Sliced and cubed the peppers , boiled in a saucepan till done . 1 1/2 # burger , onion and some hen of the woods mushroom added the peppers and a quart of home canned pasta sauce . A packet of Uncle Ben's rice . Simmered awhile . Oh so good . Had 2 bowls while still a little runny . Thickened up after it sat and cooled some . Love the taste of home canned tomato products .
Cilantro? It really gives it flavor and it’s worth a trip to the store to get it.I just finished making some tomatillo salsa. My hubby and I both agree that it needs something. But we don't know what that something is!
The ingredients were: tomatillos, onions, garlic, oregano, cumin, jalapenos, and lime juice. It did call for cilantro but I don't have any.
Any suggestions?
Love your cabinet!Good morning gardeners. Just leave the cilantro out @karenerwin. It will be fine. The plan for the day is to move more dirt from the driveway to the chicken runs. Other than that I'm taking it a bit easy before coop cleaning this afernoon. Woke up early with achy lower back. I finally found a neat little cabinet to store my canned goods in the basement. It was pretty easy to put together. I was so excited about having a decent cabinet I filled it before attaching the lower doors. The space at the bottom will handle all the canned apple products I'll be making over the next couple of weeks. I'm finally getting to organizing the basement to be a more useful space. I have a large table that was left from the previous owner down there that I've been contemplating using as the base for an indoor greenhouse of sorts. I could try growing lettuce down there over the winter. If anyone has any experience with that, please chime in. My okra plants are blooming again. Too funny. They aren't quite open enough right now to get a good picture but I'll definitely get pictures later. Have a great day everyone.
