What did you do in the garden today?

That's a lot of perch!

New pics of the littles, they're growing quick! I love the little EE, she's so pretty. The GLW is getting more color every day, it's crazy. The australorp is just plain crazy/insane & I wish the BR would grow a tail! :gig

Thanks NB. My avatar is Abby, my constant companion :love And that’s good fishing indeed, I bet the perch make great tacos. How do you season the fish? My daughter uses tilapia and I’m not really a fan. I think it tastes like dirt and I’d rather have catfish in that case.
I use that same rub I use on the ribs. I put a little oil on the fillets, sprinkle them both sides with the rub, lay them out on a sheet pan, and put them in a 350 about 5 minutes or so on a side them flip them and do another 5. Depends on how done they look. I use soft flour tacos with purple ( I like the color) slaw, some tomato or green onion (whatever I have laying around) and some spicy mayo. So good.

I need to do more research on the wormer as they are little & are growing in feathers & I hear it might be a no no.

I give my chickens natural wormer. I mix up fresh pumpkin seed ( that has been ground), some garlic, cucumber seeds, grated carrot and a little finely chopped onion. I mix this up with some greek yogurt and the girls go crazy for it. I usually give it to them daily for 4 days once a month. It may not be as good as store bought wormer, but so far, no issues. If your chickens are at least 8 weeks old, it should not harm them. I also give it to the dogs.

Nothing strenuous today. Got the pot plants moved into the house. Hard to find a sunny window that isn't already full of pots. Still have to repot and separate the aloe vera plants. Made a pecan pie and cornbread dressing today- just felt holiday- ish , I guess.
Got the new weed eater in and the battery is charging, so tomorrow, I finish up the yard for winter. The old one gave up the ghost.
Let the little chickens- almost 8 wks old, when do they officially become pullets? - out of the baby barn to play in the yard. I did prop the door open just enough that they can run inside, but the big girls can't get in. So far, they are staying close to home and not investigating much. The hens are leaving them pretty much alone. Tonight I will make sure they make it back in and lock the door.
Laundry day, joy, joy. I did change out the regular mattress pad for the heated mattress pad- THE best thing I ever bought myself.
Noticed how green the bottom of the aquarium is getting, guess I will clean that tomorrow, it IS another day.

Oh yum! Thanks much for the tips, I’m going to try that.

Yes, that thought has crossed my mind too. Time will tell!

Looks a little darker here. I wish I knew how old they actually were because 'it' has no pink in the comb & no wattles at all. If they actually were 11 weeks like they were supposed to be now I wouldn't worry but I think they're a lot younger than that.
