What did you do in the garden today?

Amish Paste tomatoes can get HUGE. Here's a picture of the first one that was ripe this year. They are indeterminate, about 90 days, heirloom. Not all of them were that big. I saved the seed of this one and a couple others to plant this season.

I'm pretty sure that's what my housemate is getting, along with San Marzanos. holy 🐄 that's a big tomato

The high here today is 19. We have had some snow and ice and freezing rain. I had to go out to a doctor appointment yesterday. Made it there alright but could not make it back up our steep, long driveway. We got about 1/3 of the way up. Then I went out and shoveled and salted and managed to get the car farther up the driveway (about 3/4 of the way). Then overnight we got more snow and ice. You can't even tell that I did anything out there yesterday! 😒 I was back out there this morning shoveling some more. Haven't gotten it all shoveled yet and haven't started salting yet. I am hoping I can get the car the rest of the way up the driveway before I have to leave for work Friday morning! Otherwise, I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it.
This weekend the lows were going to be -6 and -2 , but now they are supposed to be 7, 0 and 0 with highs of 16, 10 and 12.

The amish paste don't have a long enough season to really get going here and don't thrive. The SanMarz sure do. PLUS they fit into my processing tube without cutting up, so one step saved. :lau

High today was 11. (I'm refusing to look at the windchill.)
Sunny today, with snow coming in tonight and for the next couple of days.

is DS darling spouse? or an acronym personal to you. I've never heard it but ive heard DH for darling husband so it seems logical. pardon me if I'm totally off base lol

I am itching to plant marigolds and basil in the house but I keep putting off getting something to plant them in
dear/dearest son

Is cold out, but the indoor flower starts are doing alright. More sprouting today. Nearly every marigold cell has sprouts. And something else is sprouting in the next tray - I think hysops. I planted the different types in that tray and accidentally mixed up the packets afterward so I know what the flowers are in there, but not which is where.
