What did you do in the garden today?

LOOOOVE green beans! Especially raw. Last year is the first year that enough of them made it up to the house to get blanched and frozen. Before that, I ate just about all of them raw.

My mom said some of my first words at the dinner table were, "Mo beanie! Mo beanie!"

All of my dogs have liked them too. Hubby never cared for them until he had them the way a friend cooks them, which is grilled.

Too funny! I'm 50 & still get made fun of for crawling up in my high chair saying 'don't like, don't like' before I even knew what we were having. 🙄

Grilled green beans? Do tell...

Looks like leaf blight or leaf spot (same thing)

Fungicide will help it.

I prefer to burn plants in fall. Goal is not to sterilize and kill, just burn to ground level and move on.

Sprung time, rake everything off strawberry beds so emerging plants aren't in contact with decomposing leaf matter.

I'm not sure how my friend does it. When I do them, I saute some onions and garlic, then dump in the beans. Stir them around and kind of stir fry them.

My friend grills them on a grill with melted butter and I think some lemon juice drizzled on. You have to have long pieces to do it, or else they fall through the grill. Some might anyway.

Hubby is the grill meister here. He hasn't tried grilling beans. At least he likes my stir fry method.

I will happily share my beans with him to get him to eat another vegetable. He's pretty good with veggies, but his palate could expand some.

decided to just remove all damaged leaves lol

now I want a guide for how to pick which existing strawberry plant to keep! because I need room to plant the new one
Strawberries produce best for me second and third season after planting. I don't plant over in Strawberries. I move the bed and plant it with cover crop for a season.

Good afternoon gardeners. There’s weeds to pull but I’m not in the mood. I added straw to the rough areas in the duck house and gave them clean water and topped up feed. I waited until after work to let the littles out today and they’re really getting brave. The bigs aren’t quite ready to have them share housing yet but we’re working on it. It’s windy again today and cool in the shade but quite nice in the sun. Here’s a couple pics from today, have a good night all.
