Today we did a bit more "little kid chaotic gardening." Hopefully some of the bulbs and seeds make it
. But I figure cultivating a love of growing and taking care of things is a win, even if things aren't done 100% accurately.
Planted some carrot seeds...the large pot we were going to use has seed potatoes already growing in it (surprise from last season!), so had to improvise...we may end up with stubby carrots, but it was the next biggest container on hand
. Saved most of the seeds for when we get a bigger container or raised bed set up.
Let the 4 week chicks out with the big ladies for about an hour (closely supervised). Everyone did surprisingly well. Fed everyone some chickweed I pulled up from the front yard. The dog got jealous, tried to steal it, and then was very disappointed it was NOT as tastey as the chickens made it look.
Oh, and to answer a question - not sure if I make good lemon meringue pie, haha. But I also loved the book, ans my couple of "twin" cuckoo marans needed twin names. So they are Amelia and Bedelia.
