What did you do in the garden today?

Anybody ever get two sprouts from one seed? I only planted one spinach seed, beyond any doubt, but there's most definitely two sprouts there. I've never seen that happen before.

Need to replant the kale, and possibly my one basil plant as well, but other than those two everything else came up nicely. Going to see if I can get hubby to assist with building the aeroponic tower sometime this week. He has all the nice tools, lol.

Interesting! I've never seen that. Get pictures and document it!

I've written in my garden diary about odd things I've seen/grown. This picture is by far the oddest. I called it "the ghost pea." No, it didn't live very long. (Hoping the picture shows up this time...)

I actually have read about that! Plants can be albino too, but it means they lack the green stuff (blanking on the name) to photosynthesize food. So they only survive if they find some way to steal nutrients from a sister plant...like a vampire...(well, except with wedded root systems instead of teeth).

Is it at all possible that two seeds were stuck together?

Chlorophyll. We had an oak tree sprout with white leaves. It made it to four leaves and four inches tall and died. Didn't get a picture of that.

@AmeliaBedelia, I have to ask... do you make great lemon meringue pie? :lau Loved that book as a kid.

@BReeder! No, I was very careful to only place one. And upon examining others in the pack, they are visually identical. So unless Hubby is playing a prank on me (extremely unlikely) I can only figure it's a "twin" for lack of a better term. A web search indicated it's quite common with citrus seeds, but didn't turn up much else.

@Sally PB I'll grab a picture in a few minutes here and see if I can figure out how to post it. I usually suck at attaching photos to posts.

There we go!
