What did you do in the garden today?

I walked out to the garden beds today. They are still under four inches of snow from the "blizzard." It really was record setting snow, but... I don't know. Not really impressed all that much. I need to get out there once the snow clears and cut back last year's dead growth on the herbs, rip up the old cherry tomatoes and bell peppers, and then poke around at the garlic and see if I can get a head count.

Fingers crossed that this Saturday or Sunday I can pin down DH to help cut one piece of lumber and a hole in the side of a storage tub type box and hang a light from the soffit. If we get it done I'll post pics and it'll make more sense. Right now it probably just sounds confusing. But the seedlings need more nutrients! And soon!

4 out of 9 jalapeno sprouted, only 2 tomatoes, 0 bell peppers and a bunch of marigolds and spinach.

raining a bit so luckily no watering today. as the temperature is going to drop next week I have to chop wood from dismantled coops. it will help to clear area for my future garden.

It rained ALL day yesterday. Very windy all day, and through the night.

but, it’s sunny today!!! And should be all weekend.

Grow lights arrived. I tried to cancel my order, but they must have been in the que for shipping. Seem to be ok.

I potted the various gourd seeds in larger 4-6” pots. Only one (out of many) has sprouted. They are in a greenhouse inside. They are in the top shelf, the warmest spot. It’s definitely warm enough, but I think they just take awhile to sprout. I hope, anyway.

so, we will let the garden area drain and dry out today, and likely will get around to prepping some beds this weekend. And maybe bending some of the conduit we bought as supports.

I have an indoor project I’m working on, so I’ll be distracted by that, and will try to get out for a walk sometime today.

It’s a decent day today. I’m going to see what damage the ... :hide I don’t know if it’s a mole or an alien. Something has been running rampant. I have seen the evidence across three acres of property, and it’s poked through the plastic in the garden too.
