What did you do in the garden today?

Our trash day isn't until early next week, so maybe I'll have to take it to a dumpster if I don't hear back from the city soon. 🙄 Either way, I'll put my "big kid pants" on and go double-bag it. Ew. At least it wasn't someone's cat or a germy armadillo.
Biggest part is it really dead or playing dead they are really good that way stick it with a shovel or rake unless you can through a knife of course :wee

Been raining steady all day and rainy off and on for the past 4 or 5 days. Too soggy to do anything outside today.
My seeds are sprouting well in most pots. I need for the area to dry out some and then to either buy a trailer (and a hitch) or borrow the same from someone so I can haul in a bunch of compost and soil for the raised garden. It's only about half full after last year. I knew it would settle a lot.

If you've got a home depot nearby, you may be able to rent a trailer from them as well. They're pretty reasonable if nobody can loan you one.
Also tractor supply rents trailers quite cheaply too.
But if you don't have a hitch receiver on the truck already......

I finally caved and just bought one and the 3 point hitch.

I reppoted the bell peppers and half the banana peppers, and then I ran out of my potting mix. I'll need to pickup some top soil to make more potting mix. I still have compost and peat moss at least.
To make room for the 4" pots In putting all the peppers in, I move 3 trays of tomatoes (8x 6" pots per tray) out to the sunroom. I hope they fare well out there. Some of the marigolds out there are concerning me. It's warm enough because I have it heated, but I'm not version they are getting enough sun with our sunroom being on the north side of the house. I put the most developed tomato plants out there and kept the one tray of San Marzanos under the grow lights since they are much smaller because they sprouted later.

So didn't get much done today besides opossum removal and moving the gardening tools to the back yard in preparation for work out there.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get some large pots filled and then decide if I'm planting seeds in them moving some of my started seedlings into them. Hoping they will allow us to have a couple decent plants out back by the patio without the chickens or dogs demolishing them...we shall see. Need to decide what plants to attempt.

I also need to take photos of our wyandotte cockerel for his growth progression thread, add a new layer of leaves to the chicken run floor, and add new shavings to the nesting boxes.

I may also just kinda "make it rain" marigolds in the side flower bed. We have assorted flower bulbs in there, but I think a mix of stuff would look nice. And I have extra marigold seeds. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe writing out my goals here will mean I DO some of them tomorrow!
