What did you do in the garden today?

12 hours today on this thing and that DOESN"T include the 30 minute lunch break, the 30 minute dinner break, and the 2.5 hour round trip to get a part the company didn't put in the box. GRRRRRRRR........

I probably have another 2 hours tomorrow. Then I'll treat myself to a trip into town and buy the lumber and shelving I need to build the shelves.

I am as red as a lobster fresh out of the boil pot. And I am EXHAUSTED. Although the day was gorgeous, DH and I didn't snipe at each other, which can happen when we get hot and tired, and it went by SO fast.

@TropicalBabies thank you, it’s coming along anyway! I’d like to find something that does well in partial sun that the ducks won’t devour to put in the corner behind the pool so that’s the next thing in there. That yard is difficult to work with because it has a western exposure. Lots of shade in winter, then some serious sun on summer afternoons. I might try a secon Arabian lilac to shade the side of the house a bit more but I’m planning to move the bunnies outside by next fall to have to build a run onto the mini coop first. .

it seems you are getting close to the greek lumber prices. but don't worry, we are the champions.

I used iron for my new house construction as it is cheaper than wood.

The price of lumber will likely halt the building of any more raised beds and we want and we want 6 more in this one area.. Luckily cattle panels haven't seen the same hyper inflation that lumber has.. The one run of cattle panels on the ground is 6 panels for 300" and 100" times 2 around the raised beds.. We have plans for a serious harvest this year as inflation is going to creep into everything.. Our livestock feed has already seen $1.00 to $1.50 per bag price hike and it's going to get worse I'm thinking.. Asparagus has been kicking tail and it's hit the dinner table 4 times so far and tonight will make 5.. I munched 2 stalks yesterday raw while kicking around the yard..

Sure! I already have a mini coop that we’re going to modify with a floor so they can’t dig out but will definitely post pics as we go.
