What did you do in the garden today?

Do you only have 1 blueberry bush? When I was planting mine I was told you needed 2 for pollination. I think it was supposed to be 2 different varieties but I’m not positive about that.
Anyway, check into it to make sure you have what you need. Maybe they have a variety that doesn’t need a 2nd for pollination. 🤷‍♀️
I got one that specifically claims to be self pollinating. It's a bit of an experiment for me and we'll see what happens. If I don't get any berries next year or the year after (it's like six inches tall, no joke) then I'll plant another one! Lol

Raccoon broke an entire 3 foot graft off my fig last night - the really good one I don't know the name of. So I spent the whole morning cutting up the branch, re-grafting it to that tree and another tree, and stuck the remaining branches in pots to root. At least the bathroom is 80 degrees thanks to the brooders so I don't need to put a heat mat under the pots.

Have you ever wrapped your green tomatoes in newspaper and put them in a dark spot in the pantry or a cool closet @NewBoots?
My folks tried that when I was a kid but then again lots of things I do much differently than my folks did and they work much better. Is this totally green tomatoes or ones with at least a little sign of color?
I typed up a whole post with quotes & all & it disappeared.
I can't tell you the number of times this has happened to me. Frustrating to say the least.
@Wee Farmer Sarah I'm glad you got figs this year! :celebrate & that's what I do with the green brandywines, I pull them right before we're supposed to get a frost & let them sit inside wrapped in newspaper & I always have fresh tomatoes till Thanksgiving.
Okay, you guys have convinced me. I have so many beautiful big green tomatoes I am loath to waste them. I'll have to go into town and get some newspapers though. :)
Eggplant - flowers
I love the look of eggplants and the flowers are really pretty but I've just never eaten them other than in baba ghanoush (which I do like) and so haven't ever cooked with it.
Now, I'll need some good recipes for the loins and the back legs. It seems that a mustard sauce prep is always good with rabbit. I found a recipe for the loins in puff pastry with some veg, and it sounds like it could be good too. But, if anyone has recommendations, feel free to pass them on.
I normally freeze the ribcages and then use them for stock and the side belly of thin boneless muscle (I call them the flanks, darned if I know if that's the proper name) is what I make into jerky. I freeze them and when I have enough built up I make a batch. I've been tempted to bone the loins and make something fancy with them.

It was amazing and I"M far south. UP there was incredible! Not sure we'll have anther spike tonight or not. https://www.spaceweather.com/ usually if the aurora arc on the far left of the page goes orange and red, then it's a good show and they're strong.
