What did you do in the garden today?

I'm all about the recliner too right now. Just in the past few days the whole house came down with Covid. Keeping a close watch on the kids, but they are doing pretty well all things considered. DD had a fever spike and DS was vomiting, but we got these symptoms under control within a day. DW is a champ and pulling through well with just some congestion and mild fatigue. I have major fatigue. I slept all day yesterday and today, only staying awake for a few hours in the evening with brief moments of being awake (more like half delirious) throughout the day. The recliner allows me to sleep without blocking mucus blocking my airways.
All in all, we are pulling through. DW and I are vaccinated but didn't get the booster yet. I believe the vaccines saved us from the worst that Covid can throw at us. The kids are young, 2 and 5, so no vaccines yet but they're ability to fight this off has been impressive. Doc said kids tend to rebound quickly as long as we keep the symptoms under control.

I have non vaccinated friends, from grandparents to grandkids who got covid. they all past it quickly, within a week. only grandma and granddaughter had fever for 1 day, the others had symptoms of catching a cold. at the same time 3 of my collaborators who were vaccinated got covid. they needed 10 days to fully recover, 1 of them had fever for 3-4 days. these are the facts. I do not want to comment anything or to start conversation about vaccines. let's stick to the gardening.

Moved some stuff around today. Man I overdid it yesterday my hands and fingers just don't want to work, it's like im telling them close grab, but my fingers are saying no no NO, we don't WANT to. Getting old sucks sometimes. got the buckets of sweet potatos washed and now letting them rest a bit before eating and processing them. Saving the smaller ones as spuds for next seasons crops.

Glad everyone seems to be on mend .. Wonderful how the kids kicked it

Wow @BReeder! - glad you're all on the mend. That's a lot of COVID to deal with. I'm wondering if we're going back to remote come Jan when the semester starts since rates are climbing. (I work at a college)

Not much happening here, seed catalogs are coming in, I need to order a couple things. I really should do a new garden plan since I threw it away by accident.

Good morning all. Sorry to hear you and the family got Covid @BReeder! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. For once I'm not falling behind you @Sueby. I was lucky that when I was organizing and backing up files at the end of summer, I saved a copy of my garden workbook onto my hard drive (which I totally forgot about). My computer issues are likely more related to a lack of adequate RAM to open files saved on my thumb drive and my DVD's. So clearly a new computer is in my future. I did a lot of work in my garden plan so far. I'm still not sure if I want to grow sweet potatoes. I will be planting the summer squash and cucumbers on the platform garden area where I had the potato bags last year. The containers will get all new dirt so hopefully no issues with the squash bugs. I have enough materials to make another container platform for the backyard. I'm just not sure what to plant in them yet, but I have time to contemplate and research. Have a great day everyone.

Well, I'm observing my little potted garden in our bay window near my recliner while laid up all day. My spider plant has a flower, which I find very exciting. DW's orchid has two buds that have been slowly swelling. We're excited for the eventual blooms.
