What did you do in the garden today?

Some of my seedlings are looking thin and laying over and dying. Not sure what's happening... I keep them watered. Lighting isn't an issue and they are not leggy. Some are doing just fine while others have this issue. The air is dry, so perhaps that's the cause. It's also mostly the Amish paste having the issue so possibly bad seeds. Any thoughts?

too much watering. I did that in the past and a friend of mine who knew better told me not to water often seedlings, better spraying them just to keep them moist.

Morning Gardeners, warmed up to rain here .. Excused from jury can't drive.
Wet out no gardening three walking onions made from the 10 ordered.
Well the good news is they multiply Penny. Mine are out in the shade garden and I don’t have any sprouts yet. Got my fingers crossed they do well for both of us!

I think every day this week is supposed to be above freezing. I know it won't be enough to thaw the ground, but maybe I can get the compost turned. Or some wood chips moved.

So ready to get to work out there. Every little thing I get done in March and April gets me better prepared for the rest of the season. It's also when I sooo want to get outside and in the dirt, that even boring chores are fun.

Turning the compost! Wheeee! Rake up thatch out of the field! What fun!

do you know how much corn we should grow for about 50 chickens?
I'm not sure. While I am trying again this year, I've not been successful at raising corn. It's either been raided by deer, raided by worms, or simply failed to thrive. I know that corn is a staple for most livestock, I decided to stick with other alternatives like wheat, oats, millet, and buckwheat. We already have a hand thresher and I seem to personally have better luck with grasses than corn.

Worked 7 hours on the hoop house with a short lunch break in there somewhere.
It's pretty much framed out. Tomorrow I'll finish of the lumber portion and get the finishing lumber painted, then paint the exposed lumber bits.
I need more 1x2s, It's obvious my brain wasn't with me on my last trip, two pieces of chain, a couple hooks, and then a windless day. LOL That's going to be the hardest part.

I managed the door and the back window as well today. So much walking back and forth from the shop to the garden.
