What did you do in the garden today?

We get ours at tractor supply.
Looks like my bill. Alpaca kibble ain't cheap.
The sad part is that isn't even everything.... I still need to pick up horse feed ($30/bag), goat feed, and duck pellets tomorrow at TSC. They carry the feed brands I can't get at the feed store. It'll be another $100+. 🙁

All that for two horses and two goats who do absolutely NOTHING to carry their own weight. At least the chickens and ducks provide eggs and meat...

But I've got a soft heart and can't bring myself to sell them off. The horses are elderly (over 20 yrs old). No clue how old the goats are but I suspect they are old too....

Seed starting mix, sprinkle on top and lightly top with dusting of mix, water and hope they start.

Just back from town - gas is now obscene - up 45 cents from when I bought the same grade last week, well 9 days ago - major chain - away from freeway convenience inflationView attachment 3022926

it is still cheap compared to ours.

who knows, you might need horses to move around, lol. their feed will be cheaper then petrol + there will be some pasture as free food. we don't have so much grass for pasture but maybe I should get a donkey, lol.

Hello gardeners. It’s almost 0200 and I’m up/ can’t sleep so thought I’d catch up here. I second or third starting canning with the water bath method and graduating to pressure canning. I recommend the Ball book as a great resource for beginners, at least it helped me. I also dehydrate, but to be honest I can’t stand dehydrated vegetables when they’re reconstituted, especially peas. I like to dehydrate herbs, meat and some fruits, also thick sauces like chipotle’s in adobo…purée a can full, spread and dehydrate, then use for cooking etc. Don’t forget the tomato chips :drool It’s also fun to dehydrate cake and reconstitute as desired for a snack here and there. I’m pretty sure it was Here that I mentioned for my dads sake I hoped I wouldn’t see him last Thursday; he passed Wednesday morning. Yesterday I went to the crematory with my mom to make arrangements and pick out a tube for his ashes, then we went to his favorite Mexican restaurant and I had a margarita in his honor. Today I really need to get out and water before my mom comes over. Next weekend I’m taking a gardening class at the worm farm and plan to take another look at their fruit trees and how those are set up. Anyway, I’ve rambled enough.
I'm so sorry. :hugs I'm glad he is no longer in pain & that you got to spend good time with your Mom celebrating him.

Dang, I'll have a job as an "influencer" soon!
:lau

Hey all. Cold here, then supposed to warm up for the week. We only got a couple inches of snow, thankfully.

Hoping to get the onions in this week. That's all I got. :gig

The sun is shining and it’s 62 outside. Makes me want to set some starts outside temporarily to get some “real” sunlight but I’m thinking that 62 is probably too cold for tomatoes, peppers or luffa. What do you think?
I'm in the same boat... 😂 I really want to set them outdoors for some fresh air and sunshine. My starts are still small but at least 5-6 weeks along by now
