What did you do in the garden today?

DANG IT! I just looked outside and noticed Red was in the chicken yard with the baby. At first I wasn't concerned.... It has finally stopped the torrential downpour so I thought she was just eating.... Then I realized she wasn't paying ANY attention to the baby who was stumbling around blindly. I went and retrieved the poor thing. It's currently in a box with a heating pad to try to warm her up. I'm not sure if she is going to make it....

So what you are telling me is... I need to build a barn / work area / garage / hobby shop.

Been thinking about that too. Now you gave me more reasons TO do it. Well besides the price of building materials now, that barn will probably cost more than the house at this point Let me talk to my accountant, see if I can figure out a way to write some of this stuff off on my business since I'd be using a lot of it FOR my business. ideas ideas ideas...

well, I should warn you that my train of thought often doesn't stay on the tracks....

Oh i get derailed way too many times. You start the day out, ok im going to do THIS and THAT project. Then this gets your attention and in the middle of this, you notice, that needs to be fixed so you go do that and leave your coffee cup here, but then remember you forgot something there, so go there to take care of that, and see something from last weeks projects and take it over to that, over here, to put over there with that for later as soon as you get time now, but a bit later because now you are busy with this and will get to that in due time. In the walk from here to there, you notice a coffee cup you lost last week that is now moldy, so grab it, to put with the other thing, but it's back over there, so you head back that way, so you don't forget your cup this way again, only to forget what you went there for to begin with. You look down to see veggie starts you were supposed to put in last week, which are now dried out, so you pour the moldy cup of coffee water on them, and go to refill it with regular water, forgetting this weeks cup because you are now carrying last weeks cup. On the way to the water spigot you remember that you forgot to remember to turn off the pump for the rain water, so go hit the switch for that, only to leave your cup on the table because it's a tight squeeze to get into where the water spigot is hanging out at.

At the end of the day you are exhausted, you look around and wonder what the hell you did all day to make you tired, then look in the sink and wonder where you left your coffee cup at.

The Starbucks that opened near the store where I shop DOES save coffee grounds! I got 4 of their big bags, and they were happy to get rid of them. They said they have 4-5 of those every day. So I can be pretty sure to get a bunch every time I go to town.

Until the word gets out.

I have a 14,000 BTU LG unit with dual inverter. Should be more than enough... The room size will be somewhere around 10 ft x 6 ft.

I don't want anything to freeze....just stay cool so maintain a temp around 33-35 degrees.

Ours is approximately 4x6 with coolbot and 12k btu a/c and it stays around 36*

3 yr ols Grandson and i got 2 pvc pipes up, 20 tomatoe plants transplanted to garden and 2 pots full of tulips transplanted. He got tired of doing food and wanted to do flowers! Then he got excited with worms!!!
Played with chickens a little bit and now we both need baths and major naps and me a heating pad!!!

We got another couple of inches of fresh snow overnight. So, when I went outside today to gather the eggs and check on my chickens, I just shook my head after seeing my raised garden beds with a fresh coat of snow.

I have some wood cut and ready to build some new raised beds, so I just need a few days of sunshine and warm weather to melt the snow and dry out the wood so I can start the new builds.

Winter is still hanging on where I live.

I could have sworn I listed this but can't find it anywhere lol..so forgive me if duplicate.
Neighbor said i should pinch off the seedling leaves of the early squash. It already had couple squash leaves as well. So I pinched off the first seedlin leaves and now half of the squash plants are withered and look like they are dieing!
What'd I do?
