Yep... I agree. I've never transplanted any curcubit successfully if it wasn't a seedling.

I am avoiding the garden this morning in protest until DH mows the dang grass! It's super high now and making me itch like crazy!

Some good news though... My 2nd pineapple top that I was pretty sure was a goner has surprised me and sprouted a sucker! I still haven't separated the suckers off the first plant. I was letting them get a little bigger but I think they are about ready for transplanting....

Yep. He has the plague.
BUT he's he's normal bubbly self except for a spacey sinus headache. Keeping to himself in his room. He'll wander out eventually to do his conference laundry on the incinerate setting of the machine before he vanishes to his downstairs office. I told him he's allowed to feel like a slug and just hang out in bed. I'll throw food though the doorway like at a zoo.

Nothing you can do about it. Dang thing is everywhere it seems. (took 3 pharmacies to find a test and that was driving into the city. LONG drive and back.)

Moved the pea netting to the bush beans cuz some just wanna lay down so Im hoping this will help hold them up.

I put tomato cages around my bean plants to help hold them up. It works well, and you can use old and less-than-great cages because they don't really support much weight.

I gotta share this about DH's retirement party. He was given some NICE gifts, and some funny ones too. His boss got him a mug that says, "FN quitter!" in large letters, and in small letters it says, "I mean, happy retirement." He also got a T-shirt that says, "Does this shirt make me look retired?"

In the nice category, a DeWalt skill saw, a bottle of champagne, and two flutes to drink it out of.

Did you see the movie, "Castaway" with Tom Hanks? Remember Wilson, the soccer ball? The owner of the company bought it a couple years ago, and put it by DH's work area "because DH was always working alone." Now it's in a nice plexiglas display box, etched with, "Happy Retirement" (date and company).

I grew pickling cukes this year because I like them, I won't pickle them. I'm done pickling all cukes, they are just too mushy no matter how I keep them on ice or add pickle crisp - I just don't enjoy them unless they're refrigerator pickles. But I love the suyo longs - those are my faves, they grow well, huge & don't get too many bugs too quick.

So I have been grating cucumber onto my salads this year . We like them better this way . I use a 4 sided grate and use the hash brown making side . Cloudy day here and rain coming tonight .

Back in May we had it (thankfully my 18month old was asymptomatic) took us foooorever to find a take home test. My DH ended up going to an urgent care and getting a serum test done because the tests we did find were expired. It's just crazy here. My closest friend's baby got it this week because his cousins have it. They tested positive then went to stay with grandma for the day while the parents went to work. I know omicron isn't "as bad" but as someone with an autoimmune disorder it's not a fun time and takes me forever to get back to 100%
Hope your DS gets well quickly! And that hopefully if/ when you get it that it is asymptomatic!
