Worm might be larvae from leek moth?I cleaned about half of my garlic to empty my drying screen for the onions that are ready. Good news and bad news. Good news: most of the cloves are HUGE. Bad news: instead of 4 and occasionally 5 cloves, I'm getting 3 with the occasional 4.
Other bad news: Some kind of teeny little worm was eating/burrowing in a few cloves. Any idea what it is?
I figure this was inevitable, so I'm planning to plant garlic and onions at the other end of garden next year. Except the EWOs, of course. They have their own bed for the rest of my gardening life.
Big cloves are good for planting & eating. I rather that than a big bulb with a bunch of tiny cloves!
