What did you do in the garden today?

I had one that was like that, she'd scream this dreadful like I just slit her wide open or something, it's like oh SHUT UP !! and it's always the troublemakers who do this too. Currently MY flock I havce now, I can go out and pick them up, they'll grumble a bit, the lil ones will fuss a bit more im thinking because they don't know better yet, but otherwise they behave generally ok. Unless im really angry at them Ill also talk to them the whole time im scooping them up and moving them too, nice and gentle, let them know im there, it's me and here we go... The day after the possum ran them out of the coop, I was out there, scooping them up to put back IN the coop the next night and there was absolutely no fight at all going right back into the coop. Im left thinking. ok so since you have NO reservations what so ever about going in there now, why didn't you just do it in the first place?

Peach Tree, getting towards the end of season for them, at least down here. so they'll look ratty until say jan or so when they bloom out again and start the new season ! It looks NICE though, hopefully it does well for you !

I accidentally locked mine out of the coop a couple days ago too! It annoys me that when I touch them they scream like I'm murdering them. :gig So drama.

Got the peach tree in. It looks pretty good for being shipped across the country in a box, Stark Bros. does a good job.

A word if caution @Sueby. You should put a barrier, like a collar around the base of the tree and remove the mulch so it’s not touching the trunk. Also, surround the tree with fence, preferably hardware cloth to keep rodents and deer from munching on it.

Thank you! I did order a collar for it, it just hasn't come in yet. When it comes in it will keep the mulch off the trunk & rodents from eating it. Deer don't usually come up this close to the house so I'm hoping it's ok.

Another caution, in case you didn't know...

Be sure the graft is above ground. It's the scar that goes all the way around the trunk, usually at an angle.

Nothing happening in the garden today. We had drizzle and a heavy fog this morning. The garden is close to being done for the season. I may finally get a yellow squash from my late plantings. I will likely pick the green tomatoes tomorrow. I still have greens, but they’re slowing down too. We’ve had little sunshine the past few days along with cloudy skies. The ladies are slowing down on egg production already. I bagged 4 pounds of peach slices in the foodsaver bags earlier. Still need to slice more. I’m going to try canning up some spicy peach salsa later this week. Need a few more ingredients first. Looks like summer is really over here. One more day this week of the low 70’s then it’s 50’s and 60’s for the daytime highs. Hopefully inly one mow mowing of the front yard. too.

Thank you, it is. It's 2-3 inches above ground.
Good. I didn't know that and planted a peach tree too deep. It rooted above the graft and grew weird shoots. Then we had a VERY cold winter and it died. I never tried to plant another peach, even though they do grow around here, and even quite a bit north of here too.

You don't need to be eating them like candy to get hooked either, you can get addicted even at low doses. it's also a PHYSICAL dependence, meaning when you do come down and off, you WILL get sick.
Believe me I know...was on both morphine and fentanyl for over ten years...I won't go back to those every day again!
In the last year I've only had 3 morphine pills and regretted em each time cuz they don't help!
