I have a few things in right now - potatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, and cool weather flowers.

It's warm enough to begin planting everything else. I just haven't had time. I've been working long hours for work, taking care of my granddaughter, or out of town. I will be gone part of this weekend too but hope to get SOMETHING done on Sunday afternoon maybe. Right now I'm targeting the majority of stuff for the weekend of the 21st.

On a positive note, the water line for the garden is being installed this week! So I should be able to install the irrigation system next weekend too!

I'm giving up on strawberries. I think I have 3 plants left our of about 40 or so. I'll dig them up and plant something that will grow and be edible.

I know I had leaf spot; probably something else too.

I can relate... I've probably lost 100 plants in the past 2 yrs. If I didn't love strawberries so much, I'd probably throw in the towel. I probably could have had a 5 yr, summer long supply of strawberries from the store with what I've spent on this problem... But store bought, hot house strawberries can't hold a candle to homegrown so I just can't give up yet. I'm going all in with this gamble. If this experiment doesn't work, I'll probably give up too.

All the starts are from seed, yes. Thank you for the complement.
I cannot takev the same credit for the bleeding heart plants though - those I ordered last year and planted as bare roots.

Winding down before bed and I randomly switched the Dish over to Dish scapes. It's supposed to be a spring farm scene. That blue house amongst the flowers is a chicken coop.

CLEARLY whomever designed this Dish scape has never owned chickens... Nary a flower would be seen, let alone left planted in the ground....if my girls had anything to say about it.

I was so obsessed with making an upside down pineapple cake, I went to the store and bought a few cans of pineapples, but when I got home and opened my pineapple cans they were not the whole slices I was expecting, they were the chopped type.

Oh well its my first attempt, I don't think it will make a difference and it might taste better.........

Planted more peas today. I went from just a row to a whole 3x8 bed of peas. I wasn't putting anything else in there, so why not more peas I figured. I watered as well.
I need to deal with thistle... it's spreading with underground running roots. I cannot possibly dog them all up, especially since some of the runners are several inches deep in the soil. Anybody have ideas? I need something safe four people as these weeds are growing in/around or vegetable garden beds.
