What did you do in the garden today?

Bad news:
My self propelled push mower died today. I went over a small stump that v was flush cut before but the much around it settled I guess. Three blade hit the stump and the motor died. It took several pulls to get it to start again, and although it started it is shaking like crazy and died out after a less than a minute.

Good news:
I decided to upgrade finally to a Husqvarna 42" riding mower and the mulching kit. I well day that it takes some getting used to, but it cuts the grass fast and easily.
You could have very well sheared or distorted the flywheel key. That can throw the ignition timing off.

Yes blade, flywheel key or bent crankshaft. I have had them all at some point. Blade is first suspect. Remove blade and run it to see if it starts and still shakes.

The cattle pasture that I am reclaiming around my house was full of saplings; mostly red cedar, and honey locust. I hired someone to come out and cut them down as close to the ground as he was able so that I can mow across the top of them.

Now I am worried. 😂 😭

I am so stinking tired from building that chicken run. I cannot believe how much it wiped me out.

I have a day off from my full-time job tonight and, usually, I will attack projects. I think today I am just going to rest. I was pretty much worthless at work last night. I have a lot of writing to do for my side business and that may be about all I can muster.

I'm seriously wondering if I will be able to get the garden I'd planned in this year. It's so late and I'm so tired.

The 14 chicks far outgrew that brooder at 3 weeks. I moved them to a 4x8x2 cage for the last week. But getting them into a place where I could properly take care of them was the priority this week. It's still not done, but they have food and water that doesn't spill, plenty of room to spread their wings, a cover, and roosts - if they want them.

Still need to trim the HC I've put up.
Add more HC over the chicken wire.
Screw some facia board over the trimmed wire.
Figure out a latch, as the one I bought doesn't work. The door is screwed shut.
Figure out what I will do about the chicken door.
I'm shocked I didn't even think about the tarp when I built that little door.
Build their hanging nipple waterer.
Place boulders around the exterior.
Build a nest box.

My surprise chick from M McM is a small one. So I had to drop the feeder. She may get a little brick to stand on later.

None have looked up enough to think about flying up to these roosts. But they have plenty down low, as well.
