What did you do in the garden today?

Did some drywall work at my sister's. Need to get 3 pieces up - after the working, having dinner and taking DS to practice I had to go to HD to get supplies and it was already 8:30 when I got to her house. I managed to get one piece up and note I'll have to go back to finish another day. Crazy how little time there is in a day sometimes.

Visitor today…I *tnink* it’s gone…

Came home at lunch, looked out the kitchen window. The barn door (people door) was open bc it was propped open, and an animal has in the doorway, its back was to me so it was looking in the barn. I couldn’t really tell what it was-a bit too big to be a cat, but not right shape to be dog/canine. I went out back door, closed it, my cat scooted under the car and I could see a stray cat a ways to my right. One of these things spooked the animal. It ran INTO my barn. Great. I do a search, cannot find it. I had kept people door opened, and also opened one of the large garage doors. No luck finding it. I went in to eat lunch.

Back out to the barn. I looked to see if cat was in her bed (her usual spot at most times), but she was not, telling me the animal was likely somewhere inside still. It was my cat’s usual deep nap time so, it was telling that she was not reclined in her bed. I found this:

Groundhog I think. I moved this cart and it ran out. But I couldn’t see if he left the barn. Since that was his most likely route (outside) I can’t imagine he would still be in my barn. Of course, I’m hearing random noises making me think it’s still in the barn!
This needs to be a "Caption This" photo. LOL

It WAS still in the barn. All the way in a corner-behind things not able to be moved. It was dispatched late last night. We tried to get it to leave the barn, with open doors, etc. but, it did not which is why we had to dispatch it.

Rather large, it seems.

That's a lot of quality chicken feed you got there! Years ago me and a buddy roasted one over a campfire. Tasted ok, but it was kind of chewy.

Nothing caught in the trap.
Nothing went after my blueberries, either.
Tomatoes are looking like they decided to give their new home a try.
Hardy kiwis are losing leaves after a rough delay and transplant, but are growing new buds.
Lettuce is demanding of me, "Why did you plant us if you are not going to eat us!"
Spending time thinking about building some sort of fire pit/grill/spit, but not sure what I want.
Spending some time researching how to delay fruit tree blooms.

Work last night while sick was rough. Only got 3 hours of sleep.
I may call out.

I think my lettuce is having the same conversation. After several weeks of eating (delicious) cesar salads, I ended up cutting the other 3 heads of romaine and feeding them to the chickens and ducks. Supposedly they will regrow. I have a bunch of leaf lettuce that's ready for harvest but I'm not there to pick it so it's probably overgrown or bolting at this point.

The best laid plans....
