I cut it up and cooked it with the greens. I had to look close because some kind of worm tunneled into it. But I do love raw turnips too if they don't have worms. LOLDid you eat your turnip raw or did you cook it?
Well, some critter knocked down the watermelon I've been waiting for on my vertical trellis. Broke it open and ate the ENTIRE inside.It was ripe too! I'm guessing it was a deer. It was hanging in a t-shirt sling about 3 ft off the ground. Man, I'm so aggravated!

Just what I grew up learning. I also learned to remove the skins, but also due to them curling and not blending with sauces, getting stuck in teeth, harder to digest.
Never made much sense to me as you eat raw skin in salads and on burgers etc.
But we all do it our own way, and it all works.
I pulled (7) 5-gallon buckets worth of weeds today. Lots of crabgrass and purslane. I really needed to get that stuff out of there! Funny, just last week, there didn't seem to be hardly any weeds in that spot...
Now that the drought is over, I have to contend with weeds. I will gladly make that trade!
