What did you do in the garden today?

I was away for a week, camping with some girlfriends! But I'm back now, back to work - ick. Post some pics! I'm always amazed at the changes you've made there.

I'll never be able to catch up here. But my lettuce & spinach look great. It's been cold, everything else is dying back. & my girls are all molting. DH caught one sleeping in the nest box & booted her. He's mean, I let them stay if they're molting because I feel bad for them.

They took rain out of todays forecast. My new to me squash choices for next year are Sibley, Theron's winter harvest and Gete Okosomin. All in the Maxima group. One more I want when it is available is Algonquin in the Pepo group.

I have decided to season a quart of homemade tomato sauce for spaghetti tonight. I have homemade Italian seasoning and put in 1/4 cup. Still not sure it is enough spice. Any advice on how much spice per quart?

Nope, I wing it and taste it.
Depends on what you normally use. I use a spaghetti blend I make with ground mushroom powder, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, dried green onion, oregano, and basil, a little sugar and a shake of Worchestershire sauce.

I went to check on the church garden today. Someone had reported some damage /vandalism a couple of days ago.

Someone had dumped out the big galvanized bucket that was my daughter’s flower garden but they left the other galvanized bucket alone. Oh and they stole the bucket too. Another person had all of her green bean plants pulled up, the beans taken, the support stakes pulled up and all of the green peppers picked.
I’m guessing either kids or someone with a hungry family.
I picked some Cheyenne pepper, green peppers, jalapeños and 1 ripe tomato from my garden bed there. I also found 2 huge tomato horn worms. 1 on a green pepper plant in my garden bed and another on a tomato plant in someone else’s bed. We aren’t supposed to mess with other people’s beds but I made an exception and picked of the tomato worm.

That's awful. Why would a person or anyone be so selfish and hateful to tear up a garden. I hope someone will hear whoever did it and contact the police.

Oh yeah, I’m fine. They didn’t take my younger brother, and older brother works in intelligence for the army. One woman from my village was killed, she was 25.

Thank for worrying about me.

I'm praying that all of this hatred will go away. None of us are guilty of doing anything more than living.
