What did you do in the garden today?

I just took in my van that has auto-off feature. It turns off when sitting at a light, for example, then when you push on the gas to go, it restarts. Well, it uses a separate battery for this. I turn the stupid feature off 95% of the time as soon as I start the van. But, there is no way to actually disconnect it. So, I’ve just had that silly battery replaced again bc it dies. Last time it dies it left me stranded…but I was at home and couldn’t start the car bc of the auto off feature. Yea, had to take it to the mechanic to do this and he confirmed that it can’t be turned off permanently.
It can't be turned off but there's a device that you can purchase to put an end to that BS. I'm not sure what it's called/cost but the next time I watch Motor Trend TV I will write it down and send it to you.

Stupid. (It, not you.)
I, for one, cannot stand sitting at a light and hearing all the electric and hybrid starting back up. I don't know why that drives me nuts but it does.
It was so cold here the EVs wouldn't run, wouldn't charge and lost capacity when they did try to charge. I have a heated garage, but I don't keep it above 40 or it costs me an arm and a leg.
But I have to keep the tractor at an optimal temperature to keep its battery happy too.
A lot of people here, me included, carry a portable jump pack this time of year. If not you, SOMEONE is going to need it. (Looks like a big old boom box.)

Hopefully it’s a fairly quick recovery. I’ve known some to bounce back pretty quickly- but that may depend on the type of hip replacement.
I will see, the first hip did not go es well as hoped, among others cos the wonky hip was impacting the rehabilitation of the replacement hip, I just have to wait and see 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wish I could find a more basic truck too. All this technology is made to break, cannot handle the vibration of dirt road and real work, and is stupid expensive to fix, and owners can't DO IT!
That's the point.

And many of the new cars require repair or testing/maintenance equipment that only big dealerships can afford. It can put the small mechanics out of business.
