I've never done hot pickles before... DH is the one who likes them so I'll let him decide how hot they should be.Yum! Are you adding cayenne to spice it up? I found out adding whole one (peppers) didn’t make hot as I wanted.
I crushed my dill seeds last year and boy were they strong and sour! But oh so good
I frequently get maggots in chicken feed bowls when they don't eat it all and it rains. I dump it out on the ground before putting new feed in. Chickens go to town on the larva... Which you'd think they'd see in the bowl but they won't bother with them unless they are on the ground...I made a bucket of doom for fly larva. I forgot to empty the fish guts Monday. Lots of wiggling in there. A little insecticide in there and doom. Some people do a bucket of doom for mosquitos. A bucket some water a few old leaves and 1/4 of a mosquito dunk.
My bush beans are pole beans, two different brands, same issue. Not Baker Creek. All my pole beans died within a few days of sprouting... But the seeds I used were at least 5 yrs old. My bush beans were between 1 - 5 yrs old. Even had only a few of those actually sprout.
This remind me when I was picking raspberries for chicken snacks and had the entire flock supervising my job. NOT even a single chicken bothered to pick a berry from the bush herself! Yet they beat each other to get the raspberries from my hand. Raspberry season is coming soon and I hope my new chicks are not as lazy.I frequently get maggots in chicken feed bowls when they don't eat it all and it rains.
