I picked an other gallon of raspberries. Freezing them until the mood strikes to make jam. I use Pomona's pectin so I do not have to use any more sugar than I want to use.
Working on sodding an area of lawn that had a load of loam dumped on it. The loam has all been distributed to fill in various craters (thank you chickens) and ruts left behind by trucks and such.

Today I went to the zoo. I did not work on the garden. But the zoo was pretty great.

Our zoo is free on mondays.
Now, I just might go to the zoo, if it was free, and if it was near by, and would definitely go, if they would load my truck up with free poop from all the critters. I'd put the elephant dung over here... and I'd put the lion and tiger and bear dung around my garden, and I'd use the goat and deer and other such nuggets on the HK, and in the green house!
So here it is...
I went to the Doctor today. I told her I am suffering from
Garden Envy! OMG.. She gave me a prescription and when I filled it, I had a pack of seeds! The instructions said enjoy in moderation and stop reading the "What did you do in the garden today blog"!
Whatever... I am gunna exploit them seeds and share my reap! The warning on the package said that gardening may be addictive. It's my life and I'll decide that for myself.. The nerve of some people. Geeeze!

That gave me a laugh. My previous Dr. used to hassle me every single year when I saw her. She wanted me to do a formal exercise program. I kept telling her that she just didn't understand. I do physical therapy for work. A lot of lifting and tugging there! And when not working, I'm gardening: doing all of the earth prep by hand, building stone walls, transporting yard after yard of wood chips via WB, truck, and manure fork, cutting trees, moving firewood, And using a pick axe to dig through concrete hard clay to plant trees. Who needs a gym membership??? Spend time exercising? You've gotta be kidding me. Why, even the act of harvesting is a work out: all of the bending, stretching and reaching in the garden jungle!!!
We have been contemplating on starting with ducks recently. But we keep reading about them always digging as deep as their bill is long.. Another chore for us maybe? Still I am ready but hubby is the consciousness objector as always!
I've done the duck thing. Enjoyed them for a season. They were fantastic slug patrol. Messy around their coop, but didn't damage the lawn, or the garden. (though they did trample and sample) However, I couldn't possible imagine keeping them through the winter. Would love to see a rent-a-duck program.
