What did you do in the garden today?

An allergist recommended Flonase to me. Talk about gag & puke, snort, gag & spit then puke again reflex, oh that stuff is nasty, as Any nasal spray is. I cannot do the sprays at all. I can barely do the saline drip a few drops at a time stuff, but at least that is not a horrid taste lasting for hours. Sinuses are just a PITA aren't they?!
I bought some "Alkolol" nasal wash years ago. It's smells great. Cinnamoney like. I mix it about half and half with saline and put in the ayr saline squirter bottle. My daughter and her kids now use it to. No burn like saline, and it thins mucus. Can also be used on sunburns and a gargle. I would suggest it for the NO Navage group.

I gave myself a concussion using the netti pot. It gagged me, I startled, and slammed the top of my head into the open cabinet door. Never again.
DHs nasal spray smells like mold to me and gives me a headache. I had the doctor switch his script to something else as I couldn't stand to have it in the house.

Won't lie. For MONTHS the navage took everything I had to do. But it's a MUST do as the congestion limits air flow, which I don't notice until the panic attacks start, which are trying to make you breathe harder to get more air, which you can't and so on. So at 1-4 times a day to keep air moving, I don't mind anymore.
But I DO understand.
Even the commercials used to make me gag.
I use it and DH squishes his face up every time I suggest it to him. !

Speaking of too late...the hail did a number on my entire garden. 😥 Little seedlings that I nutured & grew up indoors months ago...what a sad end. I have 3 tomato plants that survived & the corn is trying to rise again. I think a pumpkin plant is hanging on. I don't understand how squash & cucumbers can just get pulverized like that...was it that much hail? I guess so. It knocked over that end of the garden stakes & deer netting, too. Maybe we had a mini-nado, it was all twisted like a big swirl blew it in a circle. The wind & hail Pummeled my wildflowers, too, all still blooming but laying down now, all flat on the ground.

Here it is mid June, but it is as hot as the end of July! 🥵 This is not typical, heat like this so darn soon. Oh, we get our share of 100+ degree days, but usually not til end of Jul & August. While June may not be too late to plant some things, with this heat...wow, I don't think it's a good idea. I dont want to sprout some seeds for nothing, only to have them get fried. Any advice?
Wait till fall for spring veggies this year, that might be better . No bolting in fall. Although green beans do well in heat. You could prolly get cukes again but Your melons, squash, cukes and 'maters r.i.p .... there's always next year. We've had lots of hail here too.! It's very frustrating to watch all your months of nurturing be gone in 15 minutes! And now it's HOT 🔥 104 tomorrow! Yuck. I planted my cukes under trees with south sun exposure that's the only thing that saved them. Trees acted like an awning over them but it stunts them a little too. Everything has holes in leaves though.

For my girls, it's me bringing in the lawn mower bag. I can throw just about anything else into the run, but god forbid that I empty the mower bag into the run. They fly everywhere, crying/screaming, breaking beaks on the hardware cloth.... tattering combs and toe nails. Good lord. it's just grass.... I've tried everything. Now I just put it in there when they're out in the orchard. I walk back within 10 minutes and alllll of them are scratching through what I put in the run... Lol
CHICKENS ! :smackliterally ya big chickens!

No. Plain kitchen cornstarch doesn't work. Neither did the Johnson and Johnson. Only the Best Choice brand seems to be working. Ingredients say cornstarch, but don't list a fragrance. But it smells good, so there must be something there that the flies don't like.
So, just to be sure I'm clear on the concept, can I dust myself with regular cooking cornstarch to foil bugs?

I'm in the "it's more complicated," and I think my doc is too. He and I would like the LDL and TC lower, but my HDL and triglyceride numbers are really good. An internist friend of mine said, "With your HDL, the TC and LDL aren't really worrying."

I caught 115 today. And this is just the beginning; they're still in the field, and haven't found some of the stuff that they've favored in years past.

Good for you. I've been doing some reading/research too.

Other than the high TC and LDL, the rest of my blood work numbers are good. I am working very hard at keeping my health. Without taking pills.

I highly recommend the book, Your Blood Never Lies, by James B. LaValle. It tells you how to understand what the numbers mean, and what can influence them.

The Navage saline mix doesn't burn.

I must be 80 miles south of you. A huge Crack of thunder woke me about 6:00. It was so dark when I went out for the girls this morning (about 7:00), that I had to use the remote control to open their automatic door.

You're right, I've heard many times that getting a real workout, with the sweat & elevated heart rate, as well as working out any kind of frustration, which often we don't even know we may have, sometimes from keeping emotions hidden in order to present a calm exterior (like any time a person is hurt or even bullied). Many beneficial things we can do, peel back the onion layers, and yes especially releasing our natural endorphins. It's all good.
I used to counsel couples and would often suggest physical activities to them depending on their Jobs. We are built to work hard and some desk jobs or mental jobs like management just build up frustrations. I can see how intense workouts will help a lot.
I agree we throw too many drugs at things anymore. Don't get me wrong I can't go without my inhaler. I've tried . But just watch TV seems like every commercial break has at least one drug commercial in it.!

Don't even get me really started on the med commercials. Ridiculous
Be sure to tell your doctor if you've recently had or plan to have an organ transplant. OH ya, doc, I was planning on going into a back alley on our next trip to Miami and handing a guy named bubba a kidney. Thoughts?
Wouldn't your DOCTOR KNOW if you had or were planning an organ transplant?
These commercials cater to pill popping people and the doctors that will try anything thrown at them by the pharm reps.
It's insane.
If I went into my doc and said 'hey, I saw this on a commercial for purple talking toe fungus - can we try it?' The side effects being death, collapsed lungs, and full loss of hair. He'd laugh me out of the office.
