What did you do in the garden today?

FYI, I just found a deal on Walmart.com for widemouth Ball pint jars. Not sure how long it will last, or if it's available in all locations. I bought 2 dozen.

Got the garlic all cleaned & braided. A little small this year, spring planting cuz of the back & all. But it's super healthy, I'm very happy with it & glad I could save it at least. Pulled the biggest for planting & braided one for me & one for my sis.

I pulled up all but a few of my yellow onions this morning. They're drying on an old rabbit cage I had laying around. The big one is still in the garden, and it's over 4 inches across fershure.

I grew them in around 12 square feet of space, a 4'x3' patch, rows 6 inches apart, 4 inches apart in the rows. I like packing a lot of plants in a small area.

I hope that they'll keep through the winter after drying and curing.

A wood burning boiler heater @chicken opey is a type of furnace but it can only be placed outdoors to my knowledge. I have an oil burner and boiler in my house that provides heat and hot water. The wood burning model does the same thing but uses wood instead of fuel oil. The hot water generated is connected by a pipe that sends the hot water inside the house/ cabin to keep it warm.

They will last a lifetime if you don't drop them. You may also need the plastic covers they sell next to the jars. The metal lids rust and won't last once its opened.

I decided to use my fermented kale, onions and green tomatoes that I made early in the year. I gave them a bath and drained them before simmering. I ate a serving with rice, over easy eggs, and sausage for breakfast. It was tangy and mildly seasoned, I enjoyed them. It's good to have around, I will serve them with chicken for dinner.
