What did you do in the garden today?

Good afternoon all. Didn’t do anything outside except bring in my camping gear to reorganize. Been looking forward to cooler weather and I’ll be out for a weekend as soon as it arrives. The storms looked to be headed right for us last night and then pooped out :rantI had some choice words for Mother Nature. DH said I should be nice and maybe I’d get what I want but I couldn’t do it, I was so irritated. Supposed to have possible rain tonight but I’m not even hoping at this point.

We are having the first BLTs of the season for dinner. :yesss:

They were everything I dreamed they'd be. :drool

(and I just love quoting myself :gig)

Well I decided to turn that last big batch of tomatoes into tomato sauce. Holy moly I've been in the kitchen all day. 12 pints and 2 quart jars full of sauce. I used my Vitamix and left the skins and seeds. I can't imagine how long I would have been standing here if I decided to peel and seed all of those. Plus that's a lot of good nutrition! Why waste it?! Last of the jars are in the canner out on the back patio. What would I do without that pantry I made! 😁

I did save some seeds from the best tomatoes. We'll see what comes off planting those next season.

The consistency of my sauce is pretty darn good. I'm very happy with my handiwork.

I watered the garden a little this morning and set more gopher traps. Soon I'll be canning butternut squash.

Watermelon is done for the year. Got 4 small delicious watermelons. Cantaloupe is almost done, and I have two honeydew ready to cut up plus three more on the vine.

I am excited about the seeds I started. 291 cells total. And I still have more to plant directly in the garden and starting more indoors next weekend.
