What did you do in the garden today?

I'm not sure if I posted anything about the electric issue we were having here but this wire was supposed to be connected to the box but it wasn't.

Most likely not. Yes, they're cute. Cute! CUTE I SAY, CUTE!!! Ab-so-freakin-lutely adorable!

They are curious, wily, devious, able to jump, able to run. I don't have a way to fence them in, or have a shelter for them. So I have to admire them safely from afar. Like this side of the computer screen.

The terminal on the bottom box should be connected to a water pipe and/or ground rod and the house neutral bus. The house green ground wire and white neutral wire end up at the same place. The only difference is the electrical code wanted a separate path to ground for ground fault safety. When there is a short circuit unlimited potential of electricity passes through the circuit breaker causing the bimetallic metal to bend and trip the circuit.

All matter can be broken down into atoms and within each atom there is a core with planetary electrons. The gravitational pull of electrons closer to the core is stronger than the ones farther away. The electrons on the outside can be freed by electromotive force. When an electron is freed, it positively activates the atom to replace the freed electron which causes a chain reaction within a copper wire. The free electrons that create the flow of electrons (Electricity) come from the earth.

I think the reason why each house has its own ground is for ground fault, since electricity choses the path of least resistance. The hot and neutral wire coming from the service provider is for electricity consumption. It's a blessing that you discovered the loose wire because the ground wire at the house is smaller than the service neutral making it a fire hazard and potential shock issue.

I feel really good today. Walking better and getting up from chairs easily. I am going to credit B1 with the improvement. DW has a gout attack and took B1 yesterday. She blames B1 but she gets gout attacks. I am not convinced. Earlier this summer she thought cucumbers were upsetting her stomach. Later she quit a medication and no longer gets an upset stomach. She still will not eat cucumber.
 
Electric codes confuse me the way they are enforced or applied. I wired my pole building in MN. Very strict with DIY. I hired an electrician to wire my cabin I built. Found many things that would not pass if I did it. Inspector is allowed to require anything he sees fit. Above and beyond code and he did on me. I had to have 2 grounding rods 6 feet apart. One for each ground / neutral bar. On cabin no grounding rods. Somehow grounded back to the pole. I had to bury the line from pole to shed 3 ft deep with a red ribbon 1 ft above the wires. When hand digging the trench for the furnace, we found the wires 18 in deep and red ribbon about 6 in above wire. My Grandson installs fiber optic lines and finds lines buried like that all the time.
