I lifted the row cover yesterday and saw that the daikon seeds I planted are sprouting. In a few days I will remove all but one plant in each group, 8 groups total.
As far as PFAS in fertilizers, I've been using a weak, diluted solution of Miracle Grow fertilizer on my seedlings in the house and will continue to do so for convenience, but have never/would never use Miracle Grow in my garden. Chicken crap and compost in the garden all the way for me, mainly for the concern that synthetic fertilizers will screw up the natural micro/macro biome in the soil.
My body is surely already saturated with PFAS from plastic food packaging and containers and plastic drinking glasses, among other exposures over the previous decades. In my opinion it's a little late in the game for me to be going to extremes now to limit my PFAS exposure.
I'm aware of the possible sources of PFAS and make some efforts to minimize my exposure, but I still use my nice little Teflon non-stick skillet for my eggs most days.
