What did you do in the garden today?

I didn't do anything to the garden, but I discovered that the california poppy I planted just the other day out the back of the little girls' run had flowered. You can see how small the plant is, I was surprised to see the flower, I hadn't noticed any buds.

This is also the other one I got that I'd forgotten the name of. It's bidens "Namid Early Yellow".

Yesterday, we finished up weeding the large shrub bed, put down wood chips and added a barely-visible fence to keep the ladies (and rooster) out. They LOVE scratching around in wood chips! I also put out a few remaining fall decorations. Our new yellow clematis that we just planted 1-2 months ago has grown up the fence we planted it in front of, and has sent stems out in several directions, as we hoped it would. It already has a couple dozen blooms! I'm really shocked at how vigorous it is!

Okay, another mystery plant. This one has red berries.View attachment 1132554 The berries are ripe and falling off the tree. They are oblong, not round.
Reminds me of nightshade though that's a plant not a tree or vine.
I have some growing down by my pond culvert, pretty purple flowers followed by the red berries.
Little blue flowers in the bottom right corner I think might be 'forget me not' ? not sure, don't quite look like pics of them these are tiny, maybe cause they're wild IDK, but I have tons of them growing around the pond and tons of mint.

We have a plant i call nightshade that has purple flowers here but has a spiky seed case. We had a very similar plant in TN that had thorns. I always pulled it out there because i was afraid the goats would eat it. I need a picture to show you.

My parents had one on the light post in New York. It was beautiful!
