What did you do in the garden today?

We have had to water this week. The temps today were more like fall.
I see the neurosurgeon tomorrow to discuss the carpal tunnel surgeries. I have chickens and ducks to butcher, the garden to harvest and clean out beds for winter, seeds to collect, tomato juice to can, peppers to can, fall cleaning to do which includes shampooing carpets and I need a crown replaced by my dentist.
When do I have time for surgery....will simply have to make time....while I search thru the garden catalogs and plan for next year's garden. I'm a multi-tasker.

I had my left done now almost 10 years ago best choice I ever made was happy as heck 4 years ago right was in lots of pain carpal had healed itself arthritis .... maybe think lost some strength in my left after they did it but no more pain waking me from it

I've had a bout of motivation so I planted more "stuff" today. I put in some chillis (jalapeno and anaheim), strawberries, globe artichoke, chervil and some flowers, white cosmos and some multi coloured asters. I've got another couple of pots of groundcover to stick down the back of the little girls' run which I haven't planted yet. I got a pyrethrum which (according to the tag) I can use to make bug spray if I need to, and some lawn chamomile. I also got some "ginger mint" but I'm going to need to plant that in a pot.

Mainly been weeding and starting to prep beds for fall (adding mulch, etc.).

Had my last physical therapy session yesterday! Now I'm on my own to keep up my exercises everyday, so I'm really going to have to push myself, cause it's so easy to get busy with other things and forget the exercises...

This afternoon, our 5-week old chicks are probably getting their first chance at free-ranging with mama hen. She's showing signs of wanting to go back with the other adults, but I want her to help teach the chicks how to free-range in the yard, get on the roosting bar, and get integrated into the flock while she's still interested in taking care of them. I'm so scared to let them free-range, though, I don't want any predators to get them!

I bought a bunch of spring bulbs to plant, as usual i will have to fix the soil first. I want to get the digging ditches around the coop to bury wire done too.
The contractor has started to build our wrap around porch, it is going to be amazing when it is done!

It is scary, isn't it ? I want to let the guineas out but i am waiting for them to bulk up some. I bought them to eat ticks, which have mostly disappeared any way.
