What did you do in the garden today?

@Pensmaster my dream kitchen is one with someone else in it to cook, clean and do the shopping

I got 2 out of 3 of those! I only have to clean. Sometimes i cook stuff he likes, but mostly he does it!

Lucky you! My husband does help but he's broken right now so all me for a while.

It's about even here. Sometimes I cook sometimes she does. Everyone cleans to some extent. MIL is OCD when it comes to doing dishes, but she can't see much so the dryer makes sure dishes are clean.

Probably the wild vitas riparia or riverbank grape . Small grapes but very hardy .

I do most of the cooking here, but sometimes on weekends, hubs decides to cook a meal (calls cooking "therapy"). It's great because after cooking all week, I really appreciate a break. It's a win-win for us!

Re: dishwashers - when we bought our house, the dishwasher wasn't working. I decided I would rather have the cupboard space, so had hubs just pull it out, put in a shelf, and we use that space for pots & pans. I really don't mind washing dishes by hand. At all. Probably my least favorite chore is ironing. Hate ironing!

He does his own. Sometimes he takes mine off the line when it looks like rain or its getting dark and i am still out working on the coop.

I don't iron any more , since we retired our work clothes don't need it. Yay! But when i start up quilting again i will use the iron for that.

When I was a kid my mother didn't feel she'd done her duty unless every dish in the house was used for meals and prep. I was the dishwasher then so I love my machine now!

We had a chance last week of 20%. The mountains got it. More like a drizzle here and only for about a minute


My dads dream kitchen was too have two dishwashers. One for the dirty and one for the clean. He figured he wouldn't need cabinets that way. This dream was when the dishwashers were roll away with cutting boards on top. Hooked up to the sink faucet and drained into the sinks

My dream kitchen has a walk in pantry, with a separate counter top and prep area for all those kitchen gadgets: mixer, blender, food processor, crock pot.... etc... etc... It has stainless steel and tile everywhere, and a big ol floor drain right in the middle of the floor. A big hi-power hose so I can hose down the walls, counter, floor, and all the yuck will drain out through the floor drain. Commercial dishwasher that will do a load in 2 minutes. And, it will be in a separate section of the house, with lots and lots of windows/or patio door with screen so it won't heat up the rest of the kitchen. I figure that if I'm gonna dream, I might as well dream big or go home!!!

When the kids were little i worked 12 hour shifts so if they were going to eat he had to make stuff. I guess he liked it and i taught him a lot about using spices , then he got into marinades. Plus he learned to BBQ really well.
