maybe birds drop the seeds. Birds got into our Gords this year and I thought we had cucumbers popping up everywhere but then tiny gord pods started growing on them. We planted a single Bird House Gord plant and our backyard is covered with vines from several plants in different areas. Maybe the tree rats.. dunn-o.
I like your alien flowers! Wouldn't mind seeing them pop up.

We have a few strange ones as well. And they are becoming quite invasive. Chickens must not like them. They are almost sticky and have an herb like smell

Today I deep soaked the garden. Harvested some corn. Weather here is unpredictable. One week is still summer the next is the coming of fall. 80+ degrees today and dropping into the 60's next week. Can't plant cool season crops until late October at the earliest.

I'll have to check to see if it's blossomed. I'll get some close up pictures as well. That and another fragrant weed are becoming obnoxious.

I have seen those before . Not chickory as I know those . This one has a blue flower that reminds me of bachelor buttons .

Yesterday, I tackled some of the wood pile. I didn't dig another moat to drain water. I just worked from top and sides. Burned from 5am till after midnight in two barrels and the fire pit and didn't make a dent in it.

Got to see my first black widow. I caught it. So then the kids got involved. I caught spiders and bugs. Put them in jars and my son and kids that where here enjoyed getting books out and the outside computer to try and identify the spiders. Then based on what they learned we relocated everyone to a good environment away from where I was working.

At bed time he realized I had made him do school on a Saturday.
I love it when things work out that way. School was so fun they didn't realize they were learning.
