Purple trumpet vine. I had one that took over my grapefruit tree so I had to remove it. Beautiful blooms though and they come in a few different colors from pink to lavender to violet.
Thank you so much!

Welcome Meaghan! Keep us posted on how your garden goes. We all love pics. I love to see what gardening looks like in other parts of the country. That's a lot of seedlings.Haven't posted here before, but we finally got our seeds started!
It's been a long trial to get our garden space cleared of trees and tree trunks, but we only have two left and they are almost out of the ground. It's a 100x20ft garden space, so we cleared about a dozen trees.
Our spare bedroom has turned into our seeds' room. Can't wait for this garden to get started. We have 480 cups planted for just food and herb crops. We are also going to start 100 sunflowers, 50 sweet and 50 Mexican marigolds, 40 lavender, 40 bee's friend, and 40 butterfly weed next weekend.

A funny thing happened to me as I was turning a compost pile today. Keep in mind I have not been sleeping well, and just over a week ago my sister and I "put on our big girl panties" and butchered our first chicken ever. :/
I was about two inches from the bottom of the pile when something slimy 2 inches long and roundish started rolling and then moving on its own. My little sleep deprived mind immediately thought it was a chicken heart! But no, we killed the chicken at my sister's house and did not put any of it into the compost pile...I was startled, but I couldn't move or look away. I was frozen, mesmerized, bent over it, just staring as it started climbing. (This was in slow motion, and all happened in a split second.) I was hunched over a little toad! All covered in broken pine needles and bits of dirt, he had buried himself deep in the compost pile and I'm really glad that I didn't hurt him with my pitchfork. Turns out he was not the chicken heart- I was.
Anyone else ever find critters in their compost. Sometimes I see spiders, but I try not to think about that.
