First sighting of Japanese beetles in the garden today. Haven't seen any in a couple of years. Back to he war I suppose.

Totally awesome. Thanks for sharing your home.Assorted garden pics from today.
The sunflowers are finch and bee central.
Fist of Cheryl's Zinnias have opened.
Not a single ripe tomato yet but the plants are loaded.
Many years ago we had impatient baskets on the front of the house where we do ferns now. Ever since then we get a sea of volunteer impatiens in the rock garden. They are going to be pretty awesome this year.
These Bougainvillea on the back of our house are loving the summer heat and sunshine.

If I were setting up that area, I'd also want to include some sugar snap peas, and perhaps a cherry tomato or two. Nice comfort foods for grazing on while outdoors relaxing in that garden area! If the orientation of that lot is such that you could plant the lilacs along the border of the bar, without blocking sun to the rest of the area, that might make a nice noise buffer, and snag those bottles and cans before they make it into your lot. Or you could set up a trash can close to that area, and just plan on adding the proceeds from those cans and bottles to a slush fund!Made it out to my garden before the weekend and got my green beans replanted. Crazy weekend I am still trying to recover.
TerryH LOVE your garden!
Been talking to our ambulance manager and there is this big lot behind our ambulance barn. Going to take down the old steel siding fence and replace it with a 6' high chain link. Talking about planting vines all along it as a privacy fence. Got some lilacs and have those planted along one side. Since 3 of us are doing the most work we have the most say on it!![]()
Have plans for a fire pit, a deck and a water feature.
Looking at you photos Terry has given me some ideas on how we can do a walk through garden. Mainly want flowers and a soothing place to go relax after a bad run.
Only trouble we have is there is a bar right next to the fence so we are always cleaning up beer cans and bottles.
