What did you do in the garden today?

Quote: That's great.

I see so many new people getting goats. I wondered what they are doing with them? I have thought about getting a couple since we downsized the number of cows we have.
Mostly because the cows are not able to keep down the over growth of the pasture now my dh has had to cut the grass and weeds down in the pasture.
I know some use their milk for cheese also. But our electric fence would not keep them in here and we don't want to spend the money to put up new fencing.

What a cute kid! It blends in with the background so well I could hardly see it.

I got another plum tree for my orchard yesterday. This one is a Santa Rosa to go along with my Methley. I was going to pick up some Muscadines, but they were already gone. I hope to plant my new trees this weekend.
I love plums we planted 3 and lost 2 from the crazy winters here in AL. It warms up then a freeze zaps them. I am now worried about my apple trees and young pear.
They just barely lost their leaves and started going dormant. And yet we could still get some freezing weather that would kill them if the sap is still flowing in them.

Have you checked with Ison's nursery? They still had some Muscadines not to long ago. I was getting emails from them on their Muscadines.

Got the fence finished, finally. Gate is now hung as well (pics are on my phone and I'm at work...shhhhh). Now, I've got an 11x28 spot that I have to get all the grass cleared from. My kids are NOT as excited about all of this as I am.

I've got some herbs, tomatoes, lettuce, squash, watermelon, and artichokes started in my aerogardens. Man I love those things.

Thought I had everything all planned out and ready to go....then, the Burpee catalog arrives and I'm pretty sure that I need at least 1 of EVERYTHING. LOL.

Can't wait to see close ups of the baby goat!

Have a great morning everyone!

You can put goats in with your cows. I think it is two goats for every cow. They will eat the weeds the cows won't. It is better than herbicides and later you can sell the goats.

Goat's would not stay in our electric fence. If our dogs can get in and out of it the goats surely would. Not to mention we don't leave it on most of the time.
