Slowly but surely I am filling in the holes in the garden. Planted Brassicas last night. Put some Reemay over them today, after picking off the cabbage worms. Dastardly butterflies accosted the poor seedlings while they were STILL IN THE POT! THE NERVE!!! Have some room under the Reemay to put in some collards, kale, and swiss chard. Several water melon seedlings to plant, some butternut squash, then, I need to turn my attention to weed control and laying in more wood chips. I'm finding that chicken feed bags work splendidly to lay in the walking paths. They fit the wide way for wide paths, and the narrow way for the skinny little paths.[/QUOTE]
What is Reemay? That's a good idea to use feed bags to line the walking paths.
@herfrds, I got up and cut grass right away because we were suppose to get a lot of rain today too. I got the grass cut, but all we got is a small storm. However, I believe that it must be raining hard in the city because the baseball game is on a rain delay now.
I've been working the last couple of days on pulling out the poison ivy. It is quite prolific in one large section of our property. I've been using a "pre"exposure blocker, but apparently I didn't do a good job putting it on yesterday or I sweated it off. My right arm from wrist to elbow is very itchy!! UGGHHH!!
