What did you do in the garden today?

Watered, harvested, fought off mosquitoes, cursed mosquitoes, reset mosquito traps, treated mosquito bites.

Done for now with outside. Hot as Hades and thick as molasses out there anyway. Building coop components in the garage then housework and pickling today. Pickled green beans, peppers and cherry tomatoes ~ MMMMmmmMMM!
THIS I understand (lol I quoted wrong post a while ago :barnie

Ooh, what a great thread. I have been weeding a lot lately. Lots of other things that are busy, but mostly weeding.
I finally got the last of my peppers in the ground. They got et to stems by groundhogs a while back. Now they have leaves again so they're FINALLY in the ground.
I propped up some of my tiny corn patch with sticks today, also. I had radishes interplanted with them but didn't get the radishes out in time for the corn to support itself without the radishes there. Now that the radishes are gone the corn is considering collapsing. I have some squash vines growing through there now so hopefully they won't need too much support as the squash fills in the space that the radishes were.
Also, filling in my potato boxes. I have feet of dirt to build up before they're full properly to the tops of the potato plants. After I finish filling it in, I will just let them grow and grow and grow. Hopefully I will get a nice big potato crop.

Made cheese ravioli and meatballs last night.
Plucked almost the last of our green basil and mixed in into the sauce. Also diced up some of our bell peppers and let them cook into the sauce. Topped off the dishes with our green onions (tops of scallions) cut on a diagonal for garnish color and taste!
My poor Basil plants! They look sad!

Lowe's has all their veggies/herbs etc on clearance. Some are kind of rough looking but a little TLC and goat poo compost, blue ribbon potential.
Seeds are pathetically cheep.
I got a coral bell plant and another perennial at walmart for a dollar and change today. Looks like not much is getting done outside due to torrential rain.

I usually do. We just moved and I didn't have time to get the garden set up (at the last house I had a 625 square foot garden). I used some wooden crates and packed them with as many tomato, basil, and zucchini plants as I could. I didn't leave enough room for anything else. The lemon grass and some other plants are just sitting in pots on my porch.

Lemon grass tea is a favorite at my house. I have the plant at home and 3 plants that I have brought to my office since they don't like our winters around here. I harvest it year round and dehydrate it.
