What did you do in the garden today?

You bet! I've been taking photos of everything all along. Going to put it all together at some point. Still haven't found the right chandelier. It can't be too big. I have an antique gilded candelabra that I might rework/reinvent. It's very heavy though, solid cast iron under the gilding.

I'm going with the New Orleanian bordello look, complete with all the gentile decline I can muster. Spent a lot of time in NOLA, and I feel like it's my "spiritual home". Just breathing the air there makes me feel at ease. And that look is perfect for a henhouse, no?

The plant on a string thing is cool! Pretty sure anything I did that to here would dry out and die quickly. Regular hanging baskets are hard enough in our summer heat!

What a great idea! Working with flock in a place that feels spiritually healthy has to be the best!

I'm in the desert so I would have the same problem . The plants just fry in the heat even in the shade on the prch. We're expecting one of those days tomorrow.

What do you think about a small bowl on bottom so water doesn't run right out?

Power off and on, and off and on again. And again! I awoke thinking about Granny. Hope she's doing better. Couldn't get back to sleep. SSE (step son equivalent) and HE (husband equivalent) will be getting coop roof on today finally! Expecting rain tonight/tomorrow. Going to try to get a few more autumn plants into holes made from pulling out spent summer veggies. Got big cantaloupes filling in! HE is terribly excited about those. He loves cantaloupe.

I've also promised to take pics of the chicks I will be selling. Couple of folks on the Texas thread near me have expressed interest, especially in the EEs. Which is why I got twice as many of those as the other breeds. People here love them. Maybe I'll become the crazy chick chica, and raise chicks to youngsters for those that have trouble with or dislike doing it themselves.

Yes, it fell when I touched it. No real harm done. HE will be thrilled!

Costs a lot of feed money to raise chicks, better off selling day olds. Unless you just like doing it.
