What did you do in the garden today?

Yes the Ducks are ok. I on the other, well let's just say my husband told me to save myself next time. I got mulled. After all was said and done. We tried hard to chase the dog away, but he went after my son and husband had to shoot the dog. It's the last thing we ever wanted to do. But after it attacked me and the Ducks he went for my son, and that I can't have. I really wish people around here would take care of their animals. I got stiches in upper thigh in two spots, seven fingers and for arm. I cried over having to have to shoot the dog.

Whoa! That was a very serious incident. I'm sure you do feel bad about the dog, as I would, too, but your husband really didn't have much choice - he had to protect his family, and I doubt there's many people around who wouldn't have done the same thing under the same circumstances. I would have. And if the dog wasn't contained (which it sounds like it wasn't), the whole situation is on the owners, not you and your husband. Technically, the dog owners would probably be liable for your medical expenses, as well.

No. I am the biggest, indulgent, citified hopeless sook when it comes to animals and I wouldn't hesitate to intervene when an animal goes out of control aggressive and risks harm to somebody, especially a child.

It must have been very traumatic for you all.

Agreed. I'd hate to shoot a dog... but a predator on my property, and one that is seeking to harm a human. No mercy here.

Second batch of salsa cooking down on the stove. This batch is even better than the last. Note to self: do not char the skin on Jalapeno's in the house. Not good for the eyes. But, it sure did make the house smell spicy!!! Hubby, jokingly suggested that I spin the tomatoes in the salad spinner to get some of the extra liquid out of them. So... I did. I think it worked pretty good!!!

Okay, another mystery plant. This one has red berries. The berries are ripe and falling off the tree. They are oblong, not round.

good lord just read this so glad he was there to shoot the dog do not feel bad for it as it was not at fault better he could shoot the owner... we have our property fully fenced not only to keep ours in but others out

Between what I had to deal with handling the rescue everyone is doing great by the way I just have almost lost my hope in humanity. By a bus and just travel around and slap people who don't take care of their animals. It has just broken my heart.
