What did you do in the garden today?

I collected the last of the paw paws. One minute they are everywhere, the next they are mostly gone. Might have something to do with the fresh bear tracks on our trail leading down to the river. Next thing i am doing today will be to extract those seeds.

I am kinda on my own here. I wish. I was to chicken to go back there yet. I'm worried about getting swarmed again. Someone from Church went back and put something back there and told me to wait for about a week and closed it off so the ducks couldn't get in there.

So today I am going to take it easy and do what I enjoy. I had started fresh herbs and marigold seeds, so I am going to fill cinder blocks around coops with dirt and plant everyone some fresh treats.

I would never do such a thing.

I am looking at some reduced Echinacea plants. $3 each. Seems cheap. The one i had got munched off by some critter. Might be worth a try since they are perennials.

That's a bummer! I swear they can squeeze into places we never thought possible!

I'm pretty sure she's gone up and over (both times). When I found her in there and went in to fish her out, she ran back and forth not wanting me to grab her, and then she took to the skies and leapt over the fence.... I bet my dog chased her in there. She is only little and she's quite "flighty". One day my dog chased her and she leapt from the ground straight up onto the roof of the run (about 1.8m high), just like the six million dollar man jumped (boinggg).

She really didn't do much damage, she just scratched about and unfortunately I'd just planted some new seedlings that she disturbed. Doesn't matter, if a couple make it, they'll self-seed next year. She didn't strip the beds or do anything drastric like the isa browns did when they got in there (hence the new fence). She's a little sweetie, really. As long as she's the only one who can get in, it'll be ok. She can't do much on her own (I hope).

@Mama Runner my FIL, think Ziggy, once poured something into a pond to kill the skeeters and he smoked cigars at the time.
He tapped off the ashes into the water without thinking and it went up in flames

Sitting out in the woods again, watching the fire. I am gping to have a lot of ash for the garden!
