It warmed up by noon it was 60* & sunny I wore shorts ... go figure.
Stayed out all day.
My first Iris bloom.
Weeded 4’x25’ foot outside my kitchen window.
(6 trash bags)
Used some extra stone to put down a weed/chicken block/barrier in one one of my beds. I just need to grind eggshells and work about 6 wheelbarrows of soil then finish 2 sides of wire before my tomatoes go in. So with this fickle weather it’ll give me a couple days to finish.

Wow cut some spinach made it for dinner next time was told by BF his sister in law german gal drizzled hot backing grease on spinach for wilting will do that next time
I make a potato with dijon 2 tblsp, itallian season 2 tblsp, olive oil 3 tblsp, garlic 2 cloves Put this all in a gallon bag shake potato into oven safe dish then bake in oven 425 35 to 45 minutes

Good morning gardeners. Surprisingly, it's not raining right now. The rain isn't supposed to start up again until around noon, yay! I'm skipping my yoga class this morning so I can get a little work done on the chicken run expansion. The weather forecast is for a little more dry weather tomorrow afternoon. So maybe I can get some real work done. Wish me luck!

Spinach yum!
Here’s how I do mine.
Get a large pasta pot (tall)
A pair of tongs.
Bring to a gentle boil your stock.. a ham hock or smoked turkey wing are nice to use or...
Chicken/vegetable broth (store bought) I add seasoning salt a bit of garlic powder and onion powder. It doesn’t take much broth maybe 1/4 inch in the pot.
Fill the pot full of spinach leave some room in the pot to turn the spinach. With the tongs pull the cooked spinach up from the bottom of the pot and put it on top. Repeat this till all is cooked.
It goes FAST so I usually cook the spinach right before I plate the meal.
Or a hot bacon dressing on raw spinach is wonderful too. A little bacon drippings with brown sugar, red wine vinegar and a bit of Dijon mustard...okay thanks Penny... now I’m hungry!
Good morning Gardeners :frow
ETA: it takes about 10 pounds of raw spinach to make a side dish lol.

Managed to get the supports in the garden up yesterday. I was 4 short. How that happened I have NO idea.

I put down mulch in the walkways. I was ridiculously short in that area. That happened because I only had so much room on the trailer that last trip to the city.

When DH got home last night we went back to town to get 35 more bags and 4 more panels. I'll work on that today as the rains are coming again.

I picked up two more raspberry and blackberry plants and some herbs. I only grabbed tarragon and basil. They didn't have oregano. WHO doesn't sell oregano?!

Fox was back last night. Just ran through. Night time sight seeing is fine, no shopping.

OK heading out to spread mulch.

Have a productive day all.

Believe it or not, it was actually too hot and muggy to do anything outside today! It rained yesterday, and reached 90 degrees today, so it feels like a wet wool blanket outside. Ugh.

I have to dig a lot of crushed brick out of the "garden" area in the front yard. It was there when we bought the house and is awful. I started digging it out when we moved in, but found that there were about 6 layers of crushed brick and weed cloth. Seriously, like each year, they just added a new layer of weed cloth and covered it with crushed brick. I got three layers removed, and hauled the brick to our path in the woods, making it crushed brick. I got that far before winter hit.

We got a quote from a landscaper to remove the rest, but he wanted $6000! So I am slowly chipping away at it. I hope to put in a flower garden eventually.

What do you think is infecting my Raspberry plants? It looks like a rust virus or something. I'm not familiar with common raspberry illnesses, so am only guessing it is a virus. They have been like this since we received them...well, I should say they showed signs, but it has gotten worse. We've brought them into the garage at night and put on deck during the day as the general weather has been cold and very wet, with quite a bit of wind.
