What did you do in the garden today?

Try cardboard. It's heavier than just paper and biodegrades nicely.
I thought about that! Ive been keeping a piece out there to kneel on when I pull weeds and its the only thing that hasn't moved. Ill try anything at this point! Thanks!!

Any advice on weed prevention? We have had a lot of rain and because of it I have not been able to pull weeds. We're all organic so we cant use pesticides. I laid down some landscaping fabric to take out the weeds between the rows. I tried laying down newspaper to make it so we only had to pull around the plants but it didnt work. The newspaper ended up getting swept away by the wind and didnt stick to the ground even after wetting it. I just know im doing something wrong. We plan to use mulch next year but we dont have any this year to use. We have too many trees for us to say its worth buying mulch when we can make our own.
I use newspaper, which now uses soy based inks and pine shaving from the farm store on top of that. One good soaking with the hose and it doesn't blow at all. We just had 40 mph and not a flake moved.

Hoo, so I guess I'm making up for a week today. One week of rain and
my pots get moldy :( just sunflowers, short ones, but still....put a fairy in it and call it temperate woodland.

I see the spider mite damage, was wondering about coloration?
I’m not sure what’s going on but I have a few different plants looking pale in the leaves too. I’m going to try feeding them. I’m thinking the rain washed out nutrients or their root balls are in too much water. I’m still working on my drainage and it only effects a few plants (strange) I haven’t seen eggs or insects no lacing or curl of leaves I’m kinda stumped. We’ve had so much rain too

We drenched it with the hose but it didnt work. It even rained that night. Its all over the place

It's been raining nonstop here too! So much it's just soggy in the yard, some of my garden has white fuzzy stuff growing on it, and it's going to take a month of sun to dry the yard out! Ugh, we can't even drive on the yard to get water to our cistern for fear of sinking so we have to get water delivered!

Hopefully my plants survive... last year blight tore through my garden because it seemed like it rained for 19 weeks straight.

Here's a picture of the huge spider that was trying to eat a frog:

She can't bear to see any creature hurt. She will take spiders out of the house, and even catches the stinkbugs that infiltrate the house every spring. She has wanted to be a wildlife biologist since she first watched Wild Kratts at age 4.
Awsome!
