What did you do in the garden today?

View attachment 1846967 Have a 10 gallon batch of alpaca and worm casting tea out brewing in the sun. I'll pour it in the garden tonight nearer to sunset. It is 90 degrees with a dewpoint of 76 degrees. It is nasty out.

I found a nest of butcher birds in my official weather service rain gauge today. I mean COME ON! They must have set up housekeeping the day after I cleaned it 4.5 weeks ago. Has 5 babies in it atm. Good grief. They can stay. I've had fire ants, slugs, tree frogs, hay, mud, wasps, bees, bird poo, leaves, ice and snow, piles of dead lady bugs, but a full nest with babies...that's a new one!

I'm slacking in the garden. Husband confirmed lung cancer coming back in the scar tissue. Best option removing lung, second option immunotherapy. A board of smart people has to decide which, then we start.
I'll be gone from the boards a bit. Enjoying fresh food though, you guys stay safe and happy gardening!

Our thoughts and prayers go with you. Remember to take care of yourself. I’m so sorry for the diagnosis. You know you could always check in here, we won’t tell.
May god lay his hands upon the doctors, your husband and you.
:hugs

Just went out to the garden. Collected 60+ cherry tomatoes! and the first ripe full size tomato. Pulled out 3 small cabbage plants that are riddled with cabbage worms. Giving those to the chickens. Worked out great, 1 small cabbage full of cabbage worms for each chicken coop! Also, got 7 green beans. :lau

Today I made zucchini salad with zucchini, greens, radish, and basil from the garden. The lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper came from the pantry.

Delicious! We are also getting cukes. No shortage of pollinators here. They LOVE the milkweed and visit the rest of the garden. My favorite is the ruby-throated hummingbird. It chirps when it
Moved from one flower to the next.
