What did you do in the garden today?

Ya. Persian Gulf (or backwoods of Alabama) about dead on.
Thankfully my time in Mississippi and Alabama was in the late fall and winter, I missed out on all the heat. Though I did get to see 4 inches of snow right down to the water of the Gulf while stationed in Pascagoula that winter. Apparently that is rather unusual there, everyone was walking around in wonder. Growing up in the high desert of eastern Oregon and North Idaho it was strange to hear people say that they had never in their lives seen snow before...

Sounds like a good plan. I had never done it for years but started with this new property. It's even more challenging when you do companion planting like I do. Then you have all these other variables to plan the rotation. I can't verbalize it yet but I put it on a spread sheet and work through it that way. It's still so confusing, but very good for the soil. Good luck with the tomatoes and at the Fair. Take pictures.
It could drive you nuts. I try to plant the same ones together but ... in a different box each year. Gotta write it down ya know lol.

Quite the rainstorm this afternoon. Lots of rain in a short period of time. Temps dropped about 20 degrees, so the heat wave is put off till tomorrow.

Just picked up the little chicks and the momma hen is in the brooder sitting on fake eggs. We will tuck the chicks under her tonight when it is dark.

Here they are:

ETA: Welcome to the garden thread.

 <ugh!>
Hydrate if you stop sweating it’s not a good thing.
It’s hot here but ... humidity is around 10%.
Sounds absolutely miserable.
I work outside. I am queen of hydration. What doesn't help is all the decongestants I'm on. I can't drink enough. I also only work 15 min on a timer, and go in for 30 mins at least. I work at 4am and then shower and go back to bed while the indoor daywalkers go to work. No working outside from 11am-3pm. And only short slow things on either side of that.

Still better than shoveling snow.
